PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Hi All.
I wonder if anyone can offer me some guidance. We are in the process of closing off a mortgage with the Halifax. We are subject to an early payment redemption penalty
(more fool us for taking out a fixed rate with penalties - when you are desperate to re-mortgage you dont always look at the small print)
Having reviewed our loan agreement and all the charges on it I noticed a TMPP premium which amounted to 1/6th of the monthly motgage cost £56.00/mth.
Now - My question is Is this the same as PPI ? Having looked at the misselling questions in the PPI reclaiming guide it seems as though we were sold a product which we didint need.
I am not clear on whether or not we can pursue this as I have read elsewhere in the forums that MPPI or TMPP is not covered by the same legislation as PPI and that it can be difficult if not impossible to reclaim as the sellers qualification questions invalidate any possibility of the buyer saying it was missold.
Would appreciate any guidance or help with this
Thanks
Kind Regards to you all0 -

Hi Di and all,
4 weeks is up today and no response from Lloyds TSB.
Spoke to the FOS again this morning and they are still waiting for a call back from Lloyds.................what a surprise!!
To add absolute insult to injury I spoke to the Lloyds credit card help line last night to ask if there was any update on their system and all they could tell me was that my last email, sent 3 days ago, had been logged on the system. Still doesnt answer the question as to why no one has had the decency to confirm receipt of any of the emails or letters that I have sent in the last 4 weeks.
The icing on the cake was that they also told me that they were not in a position to renew my credit card when it expires at the end of this month!!!
I have maintained one months arrears since I began my dispute with Lloyds 3 years ago and, as I have my current account with them, they automatically take one months payment out each month. As you can imagine I hit the roof with them last night.
I explained to them that the situation had arisen because they mis-sold me a product 23 years ago and it was actually them that owed me 1,000's of pounds and not me that owed them £190.
I have e mailed Eric Dainiels at 9.00 am this morning demanding a response from him by 4.00pm today. I am not holding my breath as I have copied him in on all correspondence so far and heard nothing back.
I have letters sat on my desk addressed to Natalie Ceeney, the FSA and Richard Shepherd, my local MP (I have already emailed him today) which will be sent at 4.01 pm if I have not heard from Mr Daniels.
I will keep you all updated as to my progress but I have expressed to all parties concerned that I am now being bullied and victimised by Lloyds TSB because I chose to fight the system,(and I was prepared to wait) and I won, and now Lloyds are doing all that they can to make me suffer.0 -

Hi bugsy
Bl**dy H*ll!!!
I would be inclined to make a further complaint on the way you been treated once you do get your refund through bugsy, this is NO way to treat a long term customer or anyone for that matter.
Fingers crossed for today honey, a kick up their A***S would't go amiss!
I am livid for you, all the time you have waited for this to be resolved, and your still waiting!
Keeping a close watch on your posts bugsy.;) Good luck XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi hope someone out there can help me.
Had a company (money claiming experts) ring my husband asking for myself saying i may of been mis-sold PPI when asked where they got my name and number would only say from a database, now I have no idea where or when this may of happened thinking it could be from a mortgage that i'd taken out back in 1994/5 but was paid off in 2001, but not certain it was this. How do I find out what and when or even which database i'm listed on
Hope someone can help0 -

Hi and welcome
If any finance have been taken out over the years, when for instance applications are completed they are kept on data, although I'm surprised if these have not been removed over the last 6 years.
You may find more info/details on the information commissioners office (ICO) and you can even contact them for more advice if you want to.
http://www.ico.gov.uk/
https://www.ico.gov.uk/Global/contact_us.aspx
Lots of us receives these calls, and I would not think about using them either.
If you do have a reclaim of ppi, then you can have a go yourself with free help from this site.
For more info on this check below.

If you think anything applies to you, just ask and we can help, all free.;)
Hope this helps. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi and welcome
I would have a go yourself, its all free with the help from this site.
If you have a reclaim for being mis sold for any reason, then give it a go.
You can complete the FOS questionnaire, this is in replacement of the first template letter on this site, keep copies as well, and send to whoever set up and sold you the policy in the first place.
As usual they have 8 weeks to respond.
And post by recorded delivery, for your proof of posting.
You will find the questionnaire on link below, further down the page as stage one.
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
And if successful, you get to keep all your refund.
Hope this helps, but ask for any help if required, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Update Llloyds TSB
After lots of frustration on monday, today I had a call from my branch manager (she left a message on my answer phone) to say that she was very sorry for the delay in response to my claim but the advisor that we took the loan out with had moved to another branch (we have 2 loans and saw 2 advisors) and she had forwarded all the information to the branch he was now with, but due to the branch manager having had familiy issues the matter of my claim had not be dealt with.
Lloyds are a huge company and Im rather worried that one member of staff having family issues can cause such problems in dealing with a customer complaint!
This second set of letters has been since 11th June after the first set got lost and then found again!
I emailed customer care in Wales on monday aswell as the CEO expalining what had gone on and I have now posted (registered) copies of all the paperwork to date to the address in Wales too.
I have had a letter this morning saying that customer care are looking into the the matter and they have 8 weeks to respond.
My fault really for not sending it to them in the first place, but im so frustrated that Im right back where I started way back in April!
Regards
