I have reclaimed ppi on a barclaycard that i have had since 2000, they have offered me a substanial amount but because i still have an outstanding balance they have said they will take it off the balance not send me the cash, as i did this through a reclaim company i am now out of pocket £900 , can they do this
Hi and welcome.
Well done to you.
Yes this is known to be done, although if there is no arrears/missed payments you can try asking if they would refund this directly to you, but otherwise this is the way they do seem to deal with refunds, the remaining about after refundinfg towards the balance and the interest should be refund to you.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I asked for a direct number for my branch which he gave me and guess what ot was wrong! Finally after two more calls I was "allowed" to have the direct number for my branch to try to find out what was happening with my claim.
I was not able to speak with my bank manager as she was not there but I was asked alot of questions and each time put on hold as if my reponse was being relaid to a third person. I was told that my bank manager would get back to me and when I asked when I was told once she had had the time to investigate the matter.
They have had the letter since June 11th! In fact my first contact was 13th April 2010.
I seems that they have not even looked into it at all, so I have emailed customer care and Eric Daniels. I will also registered post a copy of my claim to customer care and I think its time to get the FOS involved.
Lloyds are just ignoring me and its getting very frustrating. Im sure its just tactics to get me to give up and at times Im thinking I might, nut its is such a large sum of money that if I am successful I will be in no debt at all plus some spare!
Rant over this is making me so cross!
Thanks for listening
Mad at Lloyds
Good luck with this.
If they directed you to the main complaints at the start then you would have heard something by now, I'm sure of that, but its up to you if you want to go the FOS direction now, due to this being ignored by the branch, where they should have sent this on for investigation, please be aware though the FOS may take some time, and if you decide to complain again then that is the address as shown for these type of complaints, and always post by signed for delivery, for your proof of posting.
Either way, good luck.:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Oops sorry, missed the part about the claims company.
That is the thing when using these, they do tend to charge unfortunately, but you will receive some advice from this site, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
hi doing this on behalf of my mum she took out a loan with GE Money 10 years+ it has since been paid off over 6 years ago, does she have a case??? also when she took out this loanshe had 2 accounts 1 for the loan and the other for the ppi is/ws this right

You can always make a complaint although with this being Welcome and also with it being over 6 years ago it was paid off you would only be able to use the FOS (IF they were to dismiss the complaint) IF it was within the dates of FOS jurisdiction.0

Hi and welcome.
I would most certainly give it a go if your mum was mis sold the ppi for any reason.
And if your mum has a few then I would try for it all.
If your mum has the account numbers for each one of them, you can either write a letter in your own words, just write the reasons for reclaiming, and request they refund you all plus interest etc.
And remember to ask that they write back with a decision by 8 weeks.
The first template was replaced by FOS questionnaires on this site, and you can use these to make a reclaim instead of a letter if you want to, the financial ombudsman service (FOS) issued these to use to make a reclaim, and you complete and send to whoever sold and set up the policy.
They have 8 weeks as stated above, and sometimes they ask for more time and give you a timescale of when you should hear of a decision. That is fine,
If you can, post by recorded delivery, this is your proof of posting.
You will find the FOS questionnaire on link below, further down the page as stage one of reclaiming, remember to keep copies as well, in case you need to refer to them later on, good luck.

Hi there
If they have a complaints dept or head office I would send to them and post by signed for delivery.
There was a post on here earlier involving another bank, they had sent it to their branch who promised would deal with the complaint, but never heard anything, they should have sent to the complaints dept.
Hope this helps, good luck with your reclaiming.;)
