Hi all, after 'lurking' here for a while I've decided to bite the bullet and re-claim. Several years ago I successfully reclaimed my bank charges with the help of this website and I know it would have been impossible without all the support from the helpful people on these forums!

Stupidly, I have had numerous loans and credit cards over the years, many paid off early with another loan (I know! I've learnt now!). I have details of the more recent loans & CC's but not of the older ones. I do, however, have copies of my credit file from Experian so can use the information from these to write to the companies with a data request letter, asking for copies of the loan agreements & statements and then go from there.

Once I have details of PPI payments that I have made I will then be in a position to reclaim if I am able.

Is there a list of recommended address to use to send these letters to? (There used to be one for the bank charges).

Do the experienced claimers here think that these are the correct steps for me to take?

Many thanks for you help - I shall let you all know my progress :)

    Kat
Hi there glad you are going for it, di knows all co details and i am sure if you let us know the companys you will get the right address for each.

When you get the address put a claim in for mis sell , do the ones you have account numbers for, put you believe you were mis sold ppi they will tell you if you have ppi, still request sar then you will know if they are fobbing you off.

Dont wait for your sars to come back, as the claims you know account numbers for could be being dealt with, when you send your letters for mis sell just put a few words in a letter with any info you have on the loan or cc and reasons for mis sell and sit back and wait.I won for a friend of mine on just the settlement years and amount, think some are paying up easier and faster now and a short note tends to get results, good luck with this and keep us posted x

Having used the template from this site i have written to egg to claim back ppi, i have within ten days recieved an offer to pay back the cost of the insurance @549.45 and intrest @ 211.61, which i am very pleased, however without appearing gready should there be intrest paid for the period of the loan i was paying? said policy as stated in the template. The
refund calculator suggests the refund could be higher ? loan amount 5500 (60) months. Greedy im not egg have jacked my credit cards up to 29% since going self employed !!!! regards Martin
Well done on your win :beer:
when was the loan taken out, how much was the ppi amount on this and the monthly payment (just for ppi)? , you only get paid ppi back that you have paid to date with interest,
if this loan is finished then you get all ppi back with interest, if the loan is still running you get back the premiums you have paid to date, the ppi total removed and your loan restated without ppi and your monthly payment goes down by the ppi monthly payment. Hope this helps x

Thats not what is stated on their website. Me thinks a little report to the MOJ about Claims Financial for mis-leading clients.
Verbatim copy of relevant part of Terms and Conditions
"A1) Financial Product Compensation - Specific Terms

'Fees': Where you benefit from our service our fee will be 25% plus VAT of this total benefit in each individual claim. This is subject to minimum fees of £75 plus VAT in each credit card claim, £65 plus VAT in each unfair mortgage charge claim and £450 plus VAT in each mis-sold Payment Protection insurance claim. Subject to the amount being claimed, where minimum fees apply this could be more than 25% of your total compensation and we make no warranties as to the amount you are likely to recover, as this will vary from case to case."

Looks like if they only win a small amount you could end up paying them.
    For no-win no fee, read no-win no-win. :(
