I have had the loan for 6 years now and so have had the ppi payment of 14550 back because i never claimed on it (i know it was a carrot!!!) The company are now telling me that i can not claim anything else, maybe the 400 pound difference from the original ppi too the amount i was paid back but still owe them 1250 for the work that they have done. I originaly tried to claim this back myself because they said that due to a payment holiday that i would not be able to claim my ppi back, until i suggested to them that they may have mis-sold it as i have had cancer in the past (within 2 days they changed their minds and sent me the money...lol) Can someone tell me please if the companys right.
Original loan.........75000
ppi.....................14950
loan taken out february 2004. No arrears approx 72 payments of around 800 per month. Interest rate keeps changing at the moment I pay 825.26 per month............ Help please

Hi, I have a HSBC loan with approx 2 years of 5 remaining. I took out PPI on this and 2 previous loans without much thought and was actually told in branch on this loan that it would increase my chances of getting the loan and improve my credit rating.
Throughout each of these loans I have been working on a 10 month fixed contract which was renewed annually.
Last year I was told that the renewed contract would only offer me 1 days work a week and I was forced to take voluntary redundancy and immediately went self employed. My earnings have been reduced substantially and is very low at the moment, when I initially contacted HSBC last month to say I was now struggling to meet repayments and to ask if the insurance covered my substantially reduced earnings I was told I would have to sign on to have a chance of being covered.
I have since being made aware of mis selling and contacted HSBC to ask them to cancel my insurance premiums as they were of little use to me, I was told someone would phone me back to discuss my request. When they did they said they were unable to help me because they did not have a copy of the loan agreement and asked me to pop in to a local branch, photo copy the loan agreement and ask for it to be forwarded to them (This was HSBC and not insurers).
My gut opinion is to follow the PPI reclaim template on here and send off to HSBC asking for cancellation of current policy and refund of premiums on all loans, any advice appreciated, soorry for the long thread !
Hi there, dont cancel the insurance its own,get your claim in for mis sell, if you win the loan is restated without ppi and your monthly repayment reduces by the ppi amount each month. If you cancel then you have to take a new loan out maybe at a higher rate of ppi and longer term.Put a letter in for mis sell . good luck with this and keep us posted x0 -
Hi All
Can someone help please.
I would like to claim missold PPI on a couple of credit cards which still have balances on them but the problem is I am a bit confused :-/
The first card was taken out with Alliance and Leicester which has since been taken over by MBNA and the other was taken out with Morgan Stanley which was taken over by Goldfish and then by Barclaycard!
So can someone tell me who I should be contacting - the people we originally had the cards with or the new owners! (so to speak).
Thanks for your help.0 -
Hi all, after 'lurking' here for a while I've decided to bite the bullet and re-claim. Several years ago I successfully reclaimed my bank charges with the help of this website and I know it would have been impossible without all the support from the helpful people on these forums!
Stupidly, I have had numerous loans and credit cards over the years, many paid off early with another loan (I know! I've learnt now!). I have details of the more recent loans & CC's but not of the older ones. I do, however, have copies of my credit file from Experian so can use the information from these to write to the companies with a data request letter, asking for copies of the loan agreements & statements and then go from there.
Once I have details of PPI payments that I have made I will then be in a position to reclaim if I am able.
Is there a list of recommended address to use to send these letters to? (There used to be one for the bank charges).
Do the experienced claimers here think that these are the correct steps for me to take?
Many thanks for you help - I shall let you all know my progress

Its normally the co you first took the loa/cc out with, I had a loan with A&L who are now Santander, but A&L dealt with.
Im sure someone will confirm, not too sure on CC's x0 -
Thanks halphy
As far as I am aware Morgan Stanley don't deal with Credit Cards anymore so not sure if there would even be a department who would deal with my complaint.
I will try the new owners and see what response I get, I guess the worst they can do is refer me to someone else :rotfl:

CF charge a minimum £450 + vat per PPI claim. Another good reason to avoid them.
Thats not what is stated on their website. Me thinks a little report to the MOJ about Claims Financial for mis-leading clients.I tell ambulance chasers where to go for a living, but am willing to help genuine claimants0 -
Having used the template from this site i have written to egg to claim back ppi, i have within ten days recieved an offer to pay back the cost of the insurance @549.45 and intrest @ 211.61, which i am very pleased, however without appearing gready should there be intrest paid for the period of the loan i was paying? said policy as stated in the template. The
refund calculator suggests the refund could be higher ? loan amount 5500 (60) months. Greedy im not egg have jacked my credit cards up to 29% since going self employed !!!! regards Martin0
