Thanks for that. Just so frustrating waiting for various responses whether they are letters or e-mails. Will wait and see - good things are supposed to come to those that do.

Cheers for the welcome as well.

    Its my pleasure.

Yes I know what you mean, fingers crossed though something will come through soon via email or post, please keep us posted, cheers.;)

Hi Di3004, & all other posters,

I got some good news today!

I wrote to Mr Daniels at Lloyds last week, and today gor an offer of full PPI PLUS interest on the credit card account! That's nearly £150 off the bill! I never would have gone for this had everybody's posts been so helpful and encouraging! My son is due in less than 2 months and at the rate my debt is reducing it looks like I'll have nothing to stress about before the birth! :)

Thanks everyone! Wishing those claiming now lots of luck!

Great, really happy with your good news. Well Done

  • Hi,

I have been reading these posts daily, and wonder whether anyone can help with this at all?

I have spoken with HSBC who have confirmed that since 2003, i have taken out and re-schedules loans around seven times. I hope i dont make this too confusing!

I initially took out the first loan for around £11000 (with interest incl) with PPI, wven though i work for the government, they knew this yet still told me i needed to take out the PPI. This was eventually paid off by some money i had come in in 2006. By which time i had been allowed to take out another loan for around £10000 (with interest inc) in 2005, i made very large payments of around £400 per month including PPI. I rescheduled this loan several times (in 2007, 2008, 2009), but i remember thinking that i couldnt afford the PPI on top of the high repayments so refused it as of 2009, even though they still told me i needed it (i get full sick pay).

Anyway i shredded all of my docs last year, when i used my mortagage to pay off the loan in full, thus clearing my debts, apart from the mortgage. HSBC were quite helpful and i have requested the paperwork, which they have acknowledged on 21.06.10, but nothing yet.

What (roughly) are they likely to pay me, if they agree to this, as i presume that i would have received a refund on each PPI when i re-scheduled?

Has anyone had a situation like this?

Many thanks in advance guys! :-)

I emailed LLoydsTSB and Mr Daniels last week to ask them to take another look at my claim for mis-sold PPI. I received a letter this morning saying that they stand by their decision to refuse my claim. How can they refuse it when I was not working when I took the credit card out and was unlikely to work as I was looking after my disabled husband.
So it looks like I will have to get in touch with the FOS.
Do you think I could win. This is money I could do with.
    Many thanks in advance.

Hi there and welcome. you will get ppi monthly payments made to date with interest, as these were roll over loans you rightly state you got a refund so these refunds will be deducted and you will get the rest.
bear in mind you only get ppi paid to date, you state above you redid loans, so you may have only paid, for example, 12 months on one loan so you get those 12 ppi monthly payments back with interest, less rebate, and so on and so on.Remember you only get ppi back that you have paid to date and not all ppi amounts that were added to your loans. Hope this helps, please keep us posted x

Sorry to hear this, i would take this to fos, give them a ring and they will take details from you and send a letter to the company about your complaint, what were the reasons other than unemployment that you claim you were mis sold, also what were the reasons lloyds gave you for not upholding?

They rejected my claim on the grounds that I would have benefited from hospitalisation and life cover.
I informed them that I should not have been paying for something that I was not fully cover for.

I have received letter today from LlyodsTSB. They have turned down my claim as they say I would have benefited from the ppi, life cover, positive job solutions and hospitalisation cover.
When I took out credit card I was not working as I was looking after my husband. I was not getting carer's allowance.I made the advisor aware of this. So there was no chance of me becoming employed.
I was also in hospital while I was paying ppi and was unawre I could make a claim.
I did not know that ppi was optional and that I could cancel it( bit of a div I think ).
LloydsTSB state this is their final response and that my complaint is closed.
Could some kind person please advise me what I should do next.
Sorry sylvia, just looked backed at this so strike my last question on other post.
You have given the most obvious reason for a mis sell, when you realised you had ppi you were not aware it was optional and could have cancelled, also if you knew you had it you would have made a claim when you were hospitalised, these are good reasons, so say this to fos.

    Thanks amersall for your help.
I did not make a claim when I was hospitalised as I think when I took the credit card out you were only covered if you were in employment.
