  • Afternoon all,

Finally recieved response from Natwest in letter this morning. My wife has opened and Natwest have rejected the claim. They have used lots of jargon as to why it is not being upheld.

Should I now send letter number 2 with a questionnaire (as I did not do this with first letter)? Also should I send photocopy of copy of renegotiated loan agreement that is not ticked for PPI?

    Cheers

    Total Mortgage protection Plan Halifax
    Hi,
I wonder could someone help. I have a friend who wishes to reclaim the money from the above plan which he cancelled in 2009.
The plan was taken out in 2005 and he feels he was mis-sold due to being made to feel obliged to take this out by the mortgage advisor. After splitting from his wife and reviewing finances he cancelled the plan completely as it was unaffordable with everything else.
Could someone help with what to include in the letter. I understand it is very different to PPI on cards and loans which I successfully reclaimed before,
    Kind Regards.

If you have reasons for mi sell or this was front loaded, i would just put a letter in giving why you were mis sold and you would like all ppi back with interest.By the way what are the reasons for mis sell?

To be honest the reasons are a bit vague. He doesn't really understand the policies or implications and cancelled the policy last year. There was also critical illness attached.
I would say the reason would be the policy was not explained properly. He also said he felt he had to take it out. How would I word this?
    kind Regards

    Hi there,

I received a letter today from the ombudsman saying that the clydesdale bank have agreed to pay out. I have to sign a form & return it to the ombudsman. They have said the clydesdale will be in touch with details of the offer (it will be the same as the fos says). Can anyone tell me how long the process will take from here and how will I know if the offer is accurate. Anyone?

    Thanks, Gill
  • Evening all,

Having read my letter of rejection today from Natwest, I am wondering whether it is worth pursuing. Is it normal to be rejected first time around. The rejection letter covered all complaints I made and provided details answers as to why it is being rejected. Will second letter do any good?
Has anybody else being rejected in this manner and then been succesful? Feel a bit deflated.

Sorry to hear of your rejection.

What were your reasons for misselling and was this on single premium PPI added onto loans?
  • Thanks for reply

    It was a single policy.

I stated they were pushy, they didn't quote me the loan without PPI, they asked nothing about medical conditions, they did not ask about cover elsewhere, I said Natwest had been punsihed before (they answered RBS had not been punished), the PPI would not run for duration of loan.

The only question they have not answered is the loan without PPI.

Hi there if this was not the final response then do write back again, work on the reasons they gave to reject your complaint as well.

They should enclose the details of the FOS in the final response, good luck and keep at them.;)
