    Total Mortgage protection Plan Halifax
    Hi,
I wonder could someone help. I have a friend who wishes to reclaim the money from the above plan which he cancelled in 2009.
The plan was taken out in 2005 and he feels he was mis-sold due to being made to feel obliged to take this out by the mortgage advisor. After splitting from his wife and reviewing finances he cancelled the plan completely as it was unaffordable with everything else.
Could someone help with what to include in the letter. I understand it is very different to PPI on cards and loans which I successfully reclaimed before,
    Kind Regards.

    Hi Shamrock

You could post this on a separate thread amongst the ppi reclaiming threads if you want to as "mortgage ppi help", then maybe Dunstonh will be able to have a look and not miss this post, good luck.:)

    Thanks for reply

    It was a single policy.

I stated they were pushy, they didn't quote me the loan without PPI, they asked nothing about medical conditions, they did not ask about cover elsewhere, I said Natwest had been punsihed before (they answered RBS had not been punished), the PPI would not run for duration of loan.

The only question they have not answered is the loan without PPI.

Certainly write back. Seems that the majority will decline first time hoping that you'll accept it and give up.
Ask them to take a proper look.

    Hi there,

I received a letter today from the ombudsman saying that the clydesdale bank have agreed to pay out. I have to sign a form & return it to the ombudsman. They have said the clydesdale will be in touch with details of the offer (it will be the same as the fos says). Can anyone tell me how long the process will take from here and how will I know if the offer is accurate. Anyone?

    Thanks, Gill

    Hi there

I received one from the FOS last week, signed and accepted and today received the letter from the FOS to tell me the info have now been sent to bank and if I hear nothing by 4 weeks is to get back in touch with the FOS.

Well done to you anyway, and hope you won't be waiting too long.:T:j

  • They should enclose the details of the FOS in the final response, good luck and keep at them.;)

This was there intitial reply and they did include FOS details.

Should I send questionnaire as well as letter?

You can do only if you want to - to cover ground, but that is entirely up to you of course.

    Fingers crossed.;)

I am so sorry to hear this and your so right that they should have upheld due to your reasons, not working etc, however did you also point out that as a genuine complaint, you don't feel if was investigated properly and the FSA are punishing banks for this reason and for not upholding genuine complaints?

I would still complain to the FOS, but send them (lloyds) a letter in the post to the reclaiming section of where you received your letter, tell them you have also sent one to the CEO Mr Eric Daniels separately.

    Mr Eric Daniels (CEO)
Address: Lloyds TSB Group, 25 Gresham Street, London EC2V 7HN

I would feel very bitter about this too, its a genuine complaint, maybe they will get their act together and decide to change the decision, with this company you always have to be on top of them.

Meanwhile complain to the FOS if you want to and with a bit of luck lloyds will get back to you with a better response, and if they do and your complaint is with the FOS by then and your happy with the decision, just let the FOS know.

    Hope this helps X;)

I am actually wondering if the email was actually read by the CEO, so a hardcopy "maybe worthwhile".
    x

    Letter I received says:-
Our Group Cheif Executive, Eric daniels, has asked me to thank you for recent email.
Having reviewed your complaint file again, I can confirm that my decision to reject you complaint stands.
I am sorry that my decision was not more favourable to your complaint. However if you remain unhappy with my decision you can ask the Financial Ombudsman service to independently review your complaint.

Is it worth writing to them again or should I just go to FOS.
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi
I would say approx 99% of the time with PPI reclaiming complaints.;)

    Hi there

Its up to you, you can still continue to complain to the FOS and make those points clear to Lloyds as stated in my last post if you have not done this yet.
    Good luck.
