I contacted my loan company to complain about ppi misselling and was fobbed off initially. After my second letter they informed me that the ppi could be removed and previously paid premiums were deducted from the outstanding loan but they refinanced the loan and gave me a much higher rate of interest so my monthly repayments are also higher. This was over a year ago but I had too much going on in other areas of my life to follow it up. I was just wondering if there is anything I can do now?

Hi and welcome

If your not happy with the way they dealt with this, you can try complaining and as usual give them 8 weeks, of course if they don't resolve for you - you can then complain to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS).
Did they refund you your PPI?

Hi there, get a complaint in to the company now, tell them your reasons for mis sell, the way you were fobbed off and how they made you redo your loan at a different rate, give them 14 days to respond and tell them if you do not get a reply you will go to fos, a few banks have tried this on (nr with me) and like your case think they have got away with it.
WRONG, get your letter off and keep us posted, it may be worth your while ringing fos and explain what they have done, they will advise you better. good luck xxxx

A friend of mine has been pursuing Bank of Scotland Credit card for missold PPI. Originally she was using a company, however as they were so unreliable, she continued to pursue it alone. She has had a letter today stating that they uphold her claim and that they intend to "ensure that she is in the same situation as she would have been had she not been missold PPI".

This is great news, however....

Due to financial difficulties she now has a debt management plan in place for this credit card and another. The debts interest are frozen and she is paying off a proportion to each every month. The letter she receives today has advised thatthey will calculate how much she is due and that it will be paid into her account if it is still open.

She would much rather have a cheque, as a payment to this credit, although reducing the balance of her debt will not make any difference to her day to day finances - the cash now would be more beneficial to her.

Is she likely to get this? Can she insist on it?

Thanks for any advice

Hi there

Well done on your friend's success and for her going it alone.

I understand this may be procedure if there is still debt, and the interest side of it should be refunded directly to your friend.

However, she could argue that she have already been deprived and out of pocket due to being mis sold the PPI and wish to have the refund all paid directly to you, it may be worth a shot, good luck.:)

LOL., of course your not daft lmao :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:, don't worry.

Just ring the general query line, explain your situation that you received no PPI rebate when settling your loan just after 2 months and you also believe you were mis sold the policy.

Ask if they would know if the broker is still active (so this can be ruled out by them), and if they say yes, ask if it will be worth then pursuing the insurer instead, because you were out of pocket due to this.;)

Good luck. :DX

Hi Sylvia

Please remind us, was that the final decision they made before you wrote back to ask them to reconsider?

You could email customer services and they will be able to confirm if they are re looking or not, then if you hear nothing by the end of the week, yes complain to the FOS.

I would also copy (CC) your email to the Chief Executive officer (CEO) as well.
Customer.Care.Insurance@lloydsTsb.co.uk

eric.daniels@lloydstsb.co.uk

Good luck.;)

Hi Di, It was thier final decision, but I wrote to them to ask them to reconsider. I was caring for my husband so could not work so was not fully protected by PPI.
I will email them and the CEO and see what happens.
Many thanks for your help.

Honestly, that so annoys me so much, its obvious to them that the policy is worthless to you.

Did you inform them that you don't believe they actually investigated your complaint properly?
They are all for their own ends and not the customers.

Good luck Sylvia, please keep us posted.;)
