Afternoon all, summers here atlast and I feel like reclaiming a bit more while watching the footie :)

Just wondered does anyone know who the Black horse underwriters were in 2005?

Black horse have given me the details of the original seller who were not covered by the FOS and dont really wanna know about the claim but the FOS said if I find out who the undrewriters were I may be able to go for them.

    :)

    Hi :D

I cannot remember offhand, but wondered if its on Marshallka's Resources thread here, take a look and hopefully someone will post who will know as well, good luck.

hi new to site ,need help ,spoken to picture today who say have ceased trading ,we are currently inarrears due to a disability, i have tried to claim on the ppi insurance but was told i was only insured for death as my husband is the 1st named on the policy ,picture are phoning all the time trying to get the arrears out of us ,ive explained our circumstances have changed and they said they would send expenditure forms to fill in .they also gave me the phone number for fsc ,who i have phoned and they said they will post out .

    Hello there

    And welcome.

Was the policy actually sold to you by Picture finance?

If so then as they longer not run, you then make a claim through the financial compensation scheme (FSCS), many have had to claim this way as the business is no longer active and have been successful claiming this way.
And it helps as well because they are already in default, so this means the FSCS pays out instead of the finance business (picture).

So contact them to arrange for them to send you the forms here:
    http://www.fscs.org.uk/contact-us/

And there is also a thread to help you through this here:
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1897143

Good luck with this, you should be okay and have a very genuine reason to make a reclaim, and with these policies frowned upon, it should all go straight forward for you.

When they send you the forms, enclose (copies) not originals of any paperwork you may have, agreements etc.

I can see you have already started the process, well done.

The 2nd thread I posted above will be of some help to you. X

Im new to this and hoping someone can help.

I took a firstplus loan out in aug 2005, at the time they told me id get all my money back and the insurance would cost me nothing and would help me in getting the loan. Only when i asked for a settlement figure did i realise i would be paying interest on the insurance.

I wss also not told at the time that cause of my works policy of full pay and no redundancy policy that the insurance would not pay out anyway.

Do i have a claim? Can i do this myself or should i be signing up to one of the companies which help?

If i do have a claim do i need to ask for all the info they hold first?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi and welcome

First of all I would like to suggest that you have a go yourself and would not bother with claiming companies, they will charge you if successful where you would get to keep all your refund by doing this yourself.

These polices are a total rip off, by just being sold one of these you have a case in my opinion, but you do have your reasons, so give it a go.

The link below, you will come across a Questionnaire issued by the financial ombudsman service (FOS), you complete these to send to who sold and set up the policy, instead of writing letters, and keep copies in case you need to refer to it later on.
You will find the FOS further down the page as Stage one.

They have 8 weeks in full to respond, and post by recorded delivery, this is your proof of posting.

The link is very useful and helpful.

Good luck, please keep us posted.;)

Hello everyone, I am hoping to join the successful claim camp very shortly! I am filling in my questionaire but am unsure of what to put in some sections.
I have had a look through the threads but so far have not come across any success stories with The Royal Bank of Scotland, personal loan PPI, has anyone been successful with them?

    Hi there

I'm sure there have been lots who have reclaimed against these.

Complete to the best of your knowledge and whatever reasons apply to you.

There is useful info on the same link of the questionnaire, remember to keep a copy as well.
They have 8 weeks in full to respond.

    Good luck.
