Hi - quick question. If Barclays do not respond to my request for PPI refund within 8 weeks, can I go straight to the FOS?

    Thanks.

    Hi there
Hope your well and yes you can, because you have given them the chance and they not got back with a decision by the 8 weeks they are entitled too, which is ample time.;)

However, if you discreetly want to give them a little more time that is of course up to you, you can still prepare for the FOS and chase them up on this and if you hear of a good decision just let the FOS know.

    Good luck.X

    Hi Lucie

This is now discreetly up to you if you want to sit on this one a little longer to see what happens.
But of course as you know you are eligible to go to the FOS as the 8 weeks have passed.
    Good luck.;)

thanks di, i think i might wait a little longer as they have obvisoulsy found something to investigate. i will wait another two weeks and then see what happens.

Just a quick update. I received a bundle of info from my SAR. Thing is the statement records only go back 6 years, are incomplete, and with no paperwork to say previous records were destroyed. They have notes of calls (no transcripts of the calls or recordings - additionally on one of the calls the operator clearly didn't understand my call) I made about 2 of the cards, but only one of the cards had a problem with PPI. The other card I requested details that also had a problem with PPI on they haven't listed anything about calls/ details apart from statements from 6 years ago til the time the account was closed. Additionally there is no indication of the amount of PPI paid in total, or a breakdown from the late 90s til the time I cancelled the PPI.
This is annoying. I have my own records of statements but they only stretch back to early 2001. I can't find any other records before even though I know I had them before my move..
I haven't had a thorough look through the records they have sent but there are those obvious things missing, probably more. What should I do now?
Total debt at lightbulb moment (Jan 2010): £23410
    Target for Dec 2011: £17000
    Lloyds - Early Jan: £[STRIKE]2040[/STRIKE] Feb: £[STRIKE]2050[/STRIKE] Mar: £0
    Other Lloyds @ highest: £9800 Feb: £9800

    Hi there

You could try writing back and telling them you don't believe you have been enclosed of all the data held on you, and make them aware of what you can remember, and request they track this down and send by 14 days maximum.

If you feel they are holding anything back from you, you can of course complain to the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) and also ask for their advice on this.
    https://www.ico.gov.uk/Global/contact_us.aspx

I have in the past with LLoyds had to request for information that was not enclosed within the SAR, they did actually send at a later date, but if there is nothing at all they hold on you they have to again explain to you and why.
With some they either go back to the last 6 years, where others are more lenient and have send data going back to even earlier years.

    Good luck with this.

Does anybody know how long the FOS are taking to deal with claims. I sent my complaint in June 09 we then heard back after being assigned an adjuticator saying Welcome had made offer at end of Nov 09 but they had missed 1 of the loan accounts off claim , we were told not to sign offer but wait until they were all together just got letter from FOS saying they have all information but need to wait for adjudicator and they say they do it in date order, but from reading some success stories people have done letters after our June date but have been dealt with its so annoying.

    Hi Wendy

Hope you hear some good news soon then.
So basically Welcome made an offer but missed out one of the accounts that they did not deal with?

So I take it then they want both issues resolved first, so now it needs to again be passed on to another adjudicator.

Unfortunatlely, its difficult to predict a timescale - but hopefully now that the one offer was more or less sorted, even though not yet signed for, just as long as this other matter have been sorted it should all be go from there.
I would email them say every fortnight for an update.

Hope you don't have to wait too long now.
    Fingers crossed.;)

I'll have to go through all the material tomorrow, and write back to them.

    Hi there

    Fingers crossed for you.

Do you though still have all the account numbers, so you can still continue to make a reclaim?

    PPI Party Pooper
    Hey everyone

First time I have sent a post so dont shout if I havent done it right.

Anyway, must tell you of my success.

Took a loan out with Northern Rock in 2004 for £15000 with PPI.
Never thought much about it until a friend directed me to this site, had a read and thought ok go for it.Used the first template letter, sent it away, received a reply within a week saying they were looking into the complaint. Two weeks later I received a letter and wait for it,offering me as a goodwill gesture,£6249 and £1504 interest.Once I had picked myself up,I quickly signed it and returned it registered mail.Yesterday my bank balance or should I say imbalance was better off by almost 8 grand.

Today I have received a letter stating that a further £292.48 will be put into my account !!!!!!

Morale of my story is,go for it folks and never give up.

Martin, cant thank you and all your "posters" enough

Again, apologies if I havent done this right
