    Hi Maria

    Good luck with this.

Just to say with my experience, I had a better result, so if you can try to have a go with a letter yourself, apparently the banks are getting used to receiving letters that all look the same lol, apart from the reasons of course, but of course you can use the template as a guide and write in your own words, with your reasons.

There is one here for you to check through to give you an idea....
    http://image.guardian.co.uk/sys-files/Money/documents/2007/10/26/PPIreclaim.pdf

You write that you want all your PPI back you have paid, as stated on the template, with interest, and 8% int of what a court would award for being deprived of your money, give your reasons.

Do not worry about writing down the amounts though, they should supply them to you if successful, or you can request for them.

Tell them you look forward to hearing from them by 8 weeks deadline with a full response, make them aware if you hear nothing by then you will consider taking this further with either the Financial ombudsman service (FOS), or through the courts.
And also make them aware if they do not uphold in your favour you will also be taking further action.

Post by recorded delivery........for your proof of posting.

Hope this helps, good luck and ask for further help if required, we look forward to hearing the outcome on this.:)

You can go straight to the FOS or write and give them 1 week to respond, send recorded delivery and state the date that you wish a response by. Good Luck
hi sorry to bother you all again. Just on my way to post the letter and i have just received a letter from insurers and need some advice please.

It says this word for word
This department is in a receipt of a complaint that you have made concerning the sale of a ppi policy to the fos.
My enquiries into this matter are continuing. There are a number of issues under consideration but i hope to have some further news shortly.
I am obliged to inform you, at this stage, that you have the right to refer your complaint back to the fos. I enclose a leaflet for your information. I hope however, that you will wait the outcome of my investigation before taking any further action. I n the meantime if you have any questions please contact me.

do i go to fos or do i wait? if i wait how long for? shall i ring and ask how long it is going to take?.sorry to keep asking only im unsure what to do?

    Hi all
I am new to this thread but could do with a little advice please.:o

I have a M & S reserve product that I took out in 1998. I am trying to look at enforceability with NID's thread but when I got the SAR back today I see that there is PPI on the product. The agreement that i signed back then has my signature in the PPI box but I genuinely did not realise I had taken it out. It was a postal application I filled the form signed where indicated by a pre printed x and sent it off.
I have been out of work twice in the last 2 years once for 6 months then again for a month. If I had known about the PPI I would have claimed then when I was desperate.
Is it worth my while trying to recalim the ppi as my signature is on the form?

    Mojo:)

hi mojo i have claimed back two ppi's where they both had my signature on but i was told that i had to sign or i would not get the loan. mine had x's where i had to sign so if you feel you were mis-sold go for it.

hi i will explain my situation first
was told 3 months ago that my claim against the clydesdale had been upheld and i should be settled within 8 weeks(my calculation just over £3000), so i contated them after 4 weeks to see how my claim was going and was told that they had just moved premises and things had been held back but i should be settled within 2 weeks as they had taken on extra staff to help with the back log , So after 2 weeks i contacted them again and was told that things were still busy and i should hear something within 1 -2 weeks. I then left it for 3 weeks and still nothing so i contacted the FOS to see if they could do something and they contacted me to tell me the Clydesdale had told them that they had just moved premises but all claims should be dealt with within 12 weeks instead of the usual 8 weeks deadline. The 12 weeks deadline was up last week so i again contacted them and was told again i would hear something this week and guess what i phoned again today and was told that things were still busy i should have a settlement within 2-3 weeks. So you can understand me going off on one and was then told that if i phone back tomorrow they will try and give me a date for settlement. Couple of questions ,now nothing surer i will phone tomorrow and be told they cant tell me a date but i will be settled shortly is there anyone else i can contact to chase this up and after being given notice that i would receive my settlement more than 2 months ago i increased certain payments to credit card bills etc, but some of these have been returned as i haven't had enough funds into cover these, can i claim the bank charges back for these due to me expecting these funds to be freed up to me

Congratulations on getting a result from the Clydesdale I've also had problems with them and are asking them to re-open a previous claim that was rejected.
Can you tell us what you're circumstances and reasons were and how you were able to be succesful?
    Cheers
Thanks to all the competition posters.
