  • Thankyou so much but have a few ?'s

Is there a template letter for my 1st approach to Lloyds requesting PPI refund, the SAR's info they have sent on Loans goes back to 2001

On the SAR request they have sent the original loan figures and the insurance to be paid as lump sums for I assume the whole of the debt. Then on the original agreement they have broken it down how much I will pay per month.
Is that what I am claiming, plus is there any interest to add?

So therefore if it was X amount over 5 Yrs and I settle after 12 Mths am I claiming just that amount.

With Lloyds I have a Loan no but not an insurance no so do I quote that no ?

    Thanks for taking the time,

    Maria

hi there, there is a template letter you can use, i wrote my own as it was so easy (i am not knocking templates!!) just put your details, the loan numbers, why you feel you were mis sold. when you get a reply come back on here and if you need more advice. yes you only get back ppi you have paid to date with the interest plus 8%. the good thing is if you win mis sell you get the ppi total amount taken off the loan and the loan reset as no ppi was on over the same term and apr, that means your payment will reduce each month by the monthly ppi amount, hope this helps

if i were you i would phone claims company, and ask for the proof that you signed to say they could take a percentage.if you get the form and you have signed it then i dont think there is a lot you can do but to pay. i dont know if the fos may be able to help? if you did all the work this company in effect did not do much to earn the fee, give fos a ring and they may be able to give you guidance. please let us know how you get on[/QUOTE

Thank you I will let you know the outcome,, :p

hi all i wrote to my insurers 8 weeks this friday ago, i have received no correspondence as of yet so i rang them last week and they said they were dealing with it. my question is if i have received nothing by friday do i go to the fos or do i have to wait for a final response? when i rang them they were a bit off with me but do u think i should ring again?
  • Dear Amersell,

Your a star, can you give me the link for the request for LLoyds to look into PPI sorry. i'm rubbish at letters.

Also I've roughly worked out what I have paid since 2001 in insurance what interest do i add. eg £3868

The Loan was closed 2004 must have then added it to mortgage equity.

You can go straight to the FOS or write and give them 1 week to respond, send recorded delivery and state the date that you wish a response by. Good Luck

    Hi Maria

    Good luck with this.

Just to say with my experience, I had a better result, so if you can try to have a go with a letter yourself, apparently the banks are getting used to receiving letters that all look the same lol, apart from the reasons of course, but of course you can use the template as a guide and write in your own words, with your reasons.

There is one here for you to check through to give you an idea....
    http://image.guardian.co.uk/sys-files/Money/documents/2007/10/26/PPIreclaim.pdf

You write that you want all your PPI back you have paid, as stated on the template, with interest, and 8% int of what a court would award for being deprived of your money, give your reasons.

Do not worry about writing down the amounts though, they should supply them to you if successful, or you can request for them.

Tell them you look forward to hearing from them by 8 weeks deadline with a full response, make them aware if you hear nothing by then you will consider taking this further with either the Financial ombudsman service (FOS), or through the courts.
And also make them aware if they do not uphold in your favour you will also be taking further action.

Post by recorded delivery........for your proof of posting.

Hope this helps, good luck and ask for further help if required, we look forward to hearing the outcome on this.:)

    Hi, hope your well.;)

I would contact them one more time on Friday and ask them when should you be receiving some feedback, if they do not come out with a timescale, then prepare for the FOS, good luck with this.;)
