I have claimed PPI back on 3 of my credit cards I had and got around £300.

I then decided to use the form on this site for the Financial Ombudmans to try and claim back my PPI for my AIB bank loan. It took about 6-7 months I think and I got a call yesterday from the ombudmans saying that my bank were refunding me all the money I had paid for my PPI and any future money I would be paying for same as I will be paying the same on my loan! I am now waiting on a cheque for...wait for it....£3,900!!!! This site is a godsend and should be awarded a medal!!!!

I am so happy!! So people just perservere and dont give up!! You WILL and CAN get your money back!!!!

    Good luck!!!!!

Hi sorry first time to this so not sure if iam doing this write?? Here goes anyway!
I took out a loan with First plus a few years ago paid it off in 2007 when taking the loan it was made clear that i had to have the ppi or i couldnt have the loan i remember the phone call well. I sent a letter to first plus to request my PPI back i recieved a letter back once i rang to see why they hadnt sent a letter back and anyway they said because i agreed and signed the agreement i am legally bound to the terms and that the insurance policy is described as optional on the agreement.
Is that it for me or does anyone think i should take this further??

legal my a**e, take a look on this website firstpluscomplaints.co.uk you will have your eyes opened, they mis sold you a front loaded policy, this means the ppi is put on at start of the loan and you pay interest to the end of the loan, this insurance only covers you for the first 5 years and only the first named borrower is covered for sickness and redundancy.and you were not told you did not have to have this ppi and that you could go elswhere.they are your arguments to go for mis sell, write back to fp and tell them the reasons you were mis sold and you want the ppi payments you have made to date back with 8% interest and the ppi taken off your loan and the loan restating without ppi. you go for it and keep us posted x fos are upholding 99% of fp claims

wHY DO BANKS SAY ONE THING AND MEAN ANOTHER, YES THEY ARE A BUSINESS BUT ALL OF US ARE THEIR CUSTOMERS, SO YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD TRY TO KEEP US, OR THEY LOOSE THEIR JOBS.
wAS TOLD TO PHONE THEM IF THEIR ARE ANY MORE QUESTIONS, NOW THEY SAY WE ARE WASTING THEIR TIME REGARDING PPI.
wHATEVER WAY WIN OR LOOSE, WE HAVE MADE THEM EARN THEIR MONEY AND HOPEFULLLY GOT OURS BACK.
SO CHIN UP EVERYONE THEY ARE PAID TO DO THIS, REMEMBER THE ADVERT GET OUT OF HERE...ITS ONLY A HATCHBACK NOT A LIMO.
I KNOW HOW YOUR FEELING, STILL STUCK THERE.
WHAT CAN YOU CLAIM AS COSTS ETC ALONG WITH STRESS AND CALLS CAN ANYONE HELP.

hi sorry to bother you all but i have received an offer from my broker of wait for it 200. lol on my first loan, but no offer for my second as they state that they do not belive that a mis-sell could happen twice. anyway after looking at my broker agreements again i noticed a big cross through my income and it triggered off what had happened ten years ago, which was i lost my job and i clearly remember ringing them to inform them of this to see if it would effect our loan application. i wa told it wouldnt. so i rang the brokers again today to tell them of this and she has asked me to
    1. send her a copy of the agreement with the cross through it (shouldnt they have a copy?)
    2. to get in touch with the inland revenue and get a copy of my national insurance contributions for the year i took the loan out.
i have contacted inland revenue today who have clarified that i was not working at this time and they are sending me a statement to confirm it so my question is is this a definate mis-sell? any help would be greatly recieved as i do not know what to put in my next letter.

Just got home tonight and have finally got a response from TSB over my CC PPI - 5 months.

They basically admit to mis selling the PPI and are going to reinburse me with the ppi+ 8% interest.

HOWEVER, they will not give me the figure until i sign and accept there offer, they state the offer will be what an FOS adjudicator would demand if he decides in my favour.

So basically i win...but they wont tell me how much until i accept.

    Anyone seen this before..any advice?

    Thanks

    AW
