  • i have tried reclaiming ppi from welcome finance after they mis-sold me insurance on my car finance and a personal loan, i sent letter 1 and they replied asking me to complete a questionaire which i returned. i have now had another letter saying that they did not arrange my insurance this was done through my broker (which i have never had a broker) the company they are saying is my broker is Henderson Business Centre and the number they have provided me with is dead!!!! they are telling me that i would have to claim through this Henderson Business Centre.
both my loan and finance were set up in the welcome finance office with an advisor - i was told that i could not have the loan or finance without the insurance.
i have replied to them today expressing my absolute outrage at them accepting no liability for them adding this insurance to my loans, telling them that if they do not take responsibility for what they have done i will start legal proceedings and contact the financial ombudsman with my complaint.
has anyone had a similair experience??????

i have had my statements for lloyds visa and m/card to claim back the charges and have noticed that there was ppi on both cards.after reading through them the ppi was stopped in march 2007 and the other in april 2007.i did not request this, didnt even realise there was ppi on the cards.
has anyone else found that the ppi was suddenly stopped,i wonder why they stopped it

    Hi there

I don't think I've experienced this but as they added it and if mis sold, you can still try to reclaim on what you have paid plus the interest.;)

    Hi there

Yeah, this does normally mean it have been posted, it happens with some of mine, so sometimes I also ring the company to check as well, and they confirm it have been delivered.;)

Even though it shows that, keep checking over the next few days, if they sign - that may be a few days before it shows the siggie, other times straight away.
    Good luck with this.

    Hi there

That is correct that if you use a broker then you write to them, but if you cannot recall on using one they may have made a mistake, so ring the FOS and ask them if they would be willing to write to the broker on your behalf, they should do this for you on request, then also explain what you have on here that you are sure it was through Welcome and not a broker, they will try checking this out for you by writing for you.
Good luck with this, please let us know how you get on.

    Hello,

I wondered if someone can help me? I have had a successful claim from Barclays bank a few months ago my mum recived the PPI she had payed, and recieved over £3,000.

Another family member has also been sold PPI by Alliance and leicester. Whom told him that if he did not buy PPI he could not have a loan of £8,000.

I want to help him claim back the PPI he has payed since 2006. Can someone tell me the address I need to write to, to make a complaint?

    Hope you can help

    Many thanks for your time

    hi,
ive only just heard about this and thinking of claiming for my egg loan, I took out a rediculous 20k about 4-5 yrs ago.
Ive searched and searched the site but cant find an answer to my question.
my question is I still have a year left to pay, will the loan carry on or will i have to pay it all now? can they cancel it on me????
because i cant afford to pay it back all at once and my rate was better than ill ever get now!!!!!
    please help.
hi there, if you win mis sell your loan will be put back to the position it was in without the ppi, so your monthly payment for the remaining 12 mths of the loan will be lower (they have to redo the loan at the same interest and term it was originally so you will be better off by the ppi gone) they redo the loan so dont demand you pay it back, if you have arrears they will take this off your loan from your refund of ppi,and the ppi you have paid to date (not for the last 12 mths as you have not paid that yet) you will get back plus 8% if they want to take this off your loan to clear it they should ask you if thats what you want to do, this may be a good idea then you save the whole of the monthly payment! and any extra you will get back.if you dont have arrears that is even better, hope this helps

Hello All, can anyone tell me what I can do about a PPI policy that was kept in place even though the loan was paid off? Supposedly they sent some money back at the end of 5 years to our address that we were at when we had the loan but we had moved 2 years earlier?? So never received this. Not sure this money was sent because we didnt claim on it , but we never got it.

Not really sure what advice I am looking for so any is appreciated!

  • Hi there,

Am a little nervous as I've not done this before... but would really appreciate some advice on how to reclaim PPI from Firstplus.

We took out a loan for £15,000 in Sept.03 with PPI of £3,673.50 to be repaid over 10 years. A year later we requested a settlement figure which came back showing:-

Total to pay under Agreement £26,596.62
Less rebate for early settlement - £8,591.25
    Plus admin charge £150.00
    Total amount to settle £18,155.37

Nearly cried.... couldn't believe we'd barely paid off £500! Requested another settlement figure in 07 and using the same format as before it came out at £15,370.68 was gobsmacked still hadn't gone down below the original loan amount!! Really feel like we've been had in some way by Firstplus.

Tried to reclaim in 08 stating pressured to take PPI but they sent copy of phone call showing not the case (Advisor asked if wanted insurance, husband said yes) so threw away details in frustration! Can't recall if they explained he didn't have to take their insurance, or that only he was insured on the Policy even though loan was in both our names. Got a partial refund of insurance as we didn't claim on it and used this to pay off some of the loan amount which now means it finishes in August this year.

Have read about Rule 78 which has been banned and wondered if we could reclaim using this? Having a sinking feeling that this just isn't going to happen for us... but would really appreciate your thoughts or suggestions. Annie22

ps Have read a post that states because Firstplus were members of GISC since Nov.01, FOS now deals with claims about them from that date onwards.
