Thanks. I also have one with Natwest, again with PPI. I have rang them and told them i want to cancel it, but they say they have to do a form and sign it. Problem is, i have now rang them twice, and i have got no form from them, but had 2 PPI payments added to the account.
Can i complain to the FOS about them not letting me cancel the policy?
Thanks
Hi there
Personally I would put everything in writing, and keep copies in case you end up going to the FOS, where you can then enclose these copies.
If they do not oblige - yes you can go to the FOS, but write to them again and request them to cancel as soon as possible, now that they have taken the payments with the PPI, on reclaiming they should refund them back to you.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

As Di says, put it in writing and post recorded mail to the RBS PPI Concerns Office in Manchester. You'll find the address in the stickies at the start of the forum.
Good luck!!0 -
Just to let all know how long things are taking at the FOS.
I put in a compliant to FOS in January 2008 about Lloyds CC PPI. I was referred to an Adjudicator in June 2009. He left and I have not been allocated another Adjudicator yet. When I rang the FOS asking about this they were not surprised and did not think the time was excessive. So all those waiting to hear from FOS then get ready for a long wait.!!:mad:0 -
Hi all, this is 1st post so not sure if this is right. Please bear with me.
My husband contacted HSBC re: Cancelling PPI on his personal loan as he already had adequate cove with his job. After 2 letters, several phone calls and threatening to cancel his direct debit for loan payment they finally cancelled it. After having cancelled it they closed the old loan and re opened a new one without the PPI on it. They said this was part of the procedure to removing the PPI.
This was done (not easily may I add) and sorted out. When looking into it deeper we have now realised something is amiss.
The original loan comprised of £256.49 (principal loan) and £78.83 (PPI) totaling £335.32 a month.
The NEW loan is now £301.93 a month WITHOUT PPI!!!
Although they say the new loan has been calculated at the same APR and same terms we are confused at to why it is £301.93 a month.
We asked why and nobody has given a clear cut answer. We've had no PPI refund either.
Sent a complaint outlinning all of this to them and seen someone in the local branch.
Phoned HSBC after 8 week deadline and asked what was going on with regards to the queries and told it would now be a 12 week period before an outcome as they are experiencing high levels of complaints regarding this.
Now gone to ombudsman after having sent off a form to them. They have said they will send a letter to HSBC giving them 14 days to respond or they will open a full investigation into it.
HAS anyone else had this problem with HSBC?
We are sure they've got it all wrong and should go in our favour.
To make matters worse they have now LOST the original loan paperwork with the PPI on it outlining withat it should be without PPI. THey claim it got damaged in a flood. Would this give us the right to deem it as un-enforcable credit.
Any help would be much appreciated in this.
Thanks in advance.0 -
Hi jorcon3018,
I have experience with loans.co.uk. I received my PPI refund by cheque in January after 4 months. I sent 2 letters to them and they took about a month to reply each time. I also stated that I wanted to be put back into the position I was in before PPI was added. After they made the offer I had to chase them up by phoning them as I had not received payment after the 14 days they said they would payout in.
The points for misselling you have are the ones I used. Loans.co.uk are solvent but I think they are under the MBNA umbrella because I rang them and they transferred me to Loans.co.uk0 -
Hi I have received an offer from Welcome Finance :jand just want to check this is right. Sorry been chasing this for so long I don't trust them to offer the right amount as have never worked it out properly. The loan was taken out Dec 2004. the agreement says:
