I think you should be ok, they have changed the website now so it shows when things are out of stock so you should only be able to order stuff they actually still have.

I'm waiting for my 3rd order, gone for more practical things this time as boxes and boxes of cakes and sweets was just getting silly! :o:rotfl:

Sorry Sellercheck, but I had to say something:

I've watched this country paint itself into a corner for the last 10 years.

I've watched while a risk averse population whine, moan, complain and reach for the rule book to ensure every aspect of their lives runs without a hitch (we can't cope with hitches)
And we have been quite capable of digging ourselves financially into a hole to ensure that everything is at our finger tips - whether that be for a house, its contents or anything else they decided they deserved.

So we want it now, we want it risk free, we want it cheap, we want it on credit, but we don't want to be a Nanny State - Er, yeah, okay ...

Years ago on That's Life they used to have a Job's Worth section - It can't be just me that remembers it - Where they used to take the mickey out of somebody who reached for the rule book for a solution to everything, basically because they didn't have enough initiative to sort it out without a rule ... that somebody else had to devise for them ...

Today's society is now run by Jobsworths - and if your company is big enough, and powerful enough, it can get round the rules,(please see the thread on non-delivery of Asda products on this forum) of course ensuring that more rules have to be made ...

The smaller ones of course, who can't afford the time etc to waste on arguing factors, (time is the most valuable thing we have) go to the wall - leaving the void for the bigger, powerful boys to step in.

    Nuff said ...

When you say "I've" , "we" and "me" that's speaking only for yourself and if you're presuming to represent the silent majority I think you're making a lot of assumptions.

If you don't think businesses should comply with laws and that the work done by 'watchdog' organisations is of no merit, perhaps you'll agree that television's "That's Life" was only intended by the producers to be 'entertainment', as is "Watchdog"?

Anway, as you addressed that post to me, did you write it in reply/response to my post at #119 ?
If so, irrespective of any law, what is your answer to the question "When (at what time after order placement) it is reasonable and acceptable for the buyer's funding source to be charged?"
Each to his/her own of course, if they care/have an opinion and wish to express it publicly.

By the way, without a link or thread title, it's not easy to find a thread on non-delivery of Asda products
  • Laws are fine when you get a company consistently flouting rules and fleecing customers - when you get a company that has hit a hitch and is doing everything to resolve it, then to keep flogging the dead horse is a waste of resources.

Consumer programmes are there to reach resolution between organisations and customers - since AF are already doing it, then why waste your life prowling through the rules?

The Asda thread is following this one around - not hard to find ... but I've got a goat to milk.

Heehee ... so what you are saying is that we are a debt free nation of risk takers, who will patiently wait until we can afford something, don't throw away a third of our food that is edible, don't reach for the rule book every time everything goes wrong, or moan ...?

You do actually live in the UK, don't you ... if so, where have you been?

I use the national 'we,' - since I live here putting 'you,' 'they,' would make it seem as if I live somewhere else (and that would be silly)

Good article in the Guardian yesterday by the way - about forthcoming food shortages, its causes and implications - but maybe they are just making assumptions ...
