Morning all! Oh dear, page 3 - I get later every day!

Hope everyone is having great fun in the snow - it's stange here, it's been snowing all night, and it's still falling now, but the sun is out and it looks lovely and warm outside my window! Weird.... but pretty!
I'm pleased as don't have to go out today until 4pm when OH gets in from work, as long as the electricity holds out until then! So hopefully the snow will have melted a bit by then.
Anyways, my list for today is:- go to shop to buy electricity
- shopping for bread, dog food and milk
- [STRIKE]tidy living room and hoover[/STRIKE]
- 3 sets of laundry, dry on airers
- wash dishes
- [strike]do any surveys available[/strike]
- list 5(ish!) items on Ebay
- reach first £2.00 for this month on STP
- [strike]do 1 new review on DooYoo[/strike]
- tackle huge pile of socks waiting to be paired (hate this job :rotfl: )
- check banking, pay money to savings account
- [STRIKE]try to put money in sealed pot - very excited as almost at £100[/STRIKE] :j
- [STRIKE]finish filling in horribly long application form and email it off to save time and postage cost [/STRIKE]:)

I am feeling very sorry for myself now!! I have been snowed in but i didn't realise i was snowed in and i tried to drive my car and got stuck up the hill and was sliding around all over and didn't know what to do:( I only passed my test in Aug so am new to this all and didn't have my fella here to help me!
In the end i had to ask two lovely gentleman to help me push my car over to the side of the road.
Was meant to be going to college today but that was cancelled, i found out afterwards!! Work said not to worry take it off as i have done so much work already and depending on the snow i will or will not be back at work tomorrrow.
My car is now stuck on the hill all alone and very cross with me!!:o
andan you were very brave to go out in the first place. I'm scared of driving in snowy conditions, luckily I had a call from a colleague telling me that our trains were cancelled and that the hill I live at the top of is not safe. What lovely gents to help you push your car though!Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

I know I am in the wrong place but this has taken me over an hour
to do?
I am very recently widowed and do not know what the future holds,
financially or otherwise.
My query is that I have £3,000 in savings,
my debts are £1047 paying off at 3.9APR till end of balance.
£1,125 at 2.9APR till end of balance.
Do I pay off my debts with my savings and start afresh or
continue to pay them as I do?
Help please - just at a loss what to do and my brain has
stopped functioning, I feel as if I have died too.0 -
DH is in work despite lots of snow. It hasn't stopped since he left & am worried he won't get home. Mum's school is closed but the teachers haven't been allowed home yet! (Stupid headteacher...)
Things I have done:
- Free scratches
- Checked bank accounts
- Updated spreadsheet
- Sent off a job application for a really good job! *fingers crossed*
- Checked emails, Ebay & Paypal.
Things I have to do:
- Do weekly jobsearch
- Wash clothes
- List stuff on Ebay
- Read magazines & not leave the house!

I'm sorry to hear about your recent loss.
Unless your savings interest is massively higher than the interest on your debt (which it most likely won't be) I would pay off your debt.
It seems silly to have debt if you have savings to pay it off.

Thank you for your advice - I realise this is the thing to do, just the
thought of not having any "security" behind me is very scary.
Currently off work with stress and about to go onto half pay
as well as being a widow - not a good time for this girlie.0 -

If you feel you may need your savings as a salary in the short-term, don't pay off your debt!
