Poor Andan!!! I too hate driving in the snow. You just never know where its really icy and slippery. I have to go out later to collect hubby from work but he said he will sort something else out if snow is really bad. May mean having an articulated lorry coming down our litte road to drop him off!!:rotfl:

I was more cross with the other people who were stood around throwing snow balls, they saw me cleaning my car and getting into it but no one said anything to me:confused: I know it is not there responsibility but they knew that no one could get up the hill and they know i only recently passed my test so it is all new to me.

Have to say the gentlemen that helped me though were true gents:D I am very good at playing the damsel in distress at times and having men come rescue me:rotfl:

hope your other half gets home safe!

Morning all - It started off quite promising with regards to snow here in Manchester but now the sun has come out! Got to work ok and there seems little chance of it snowing enough to be sent home! Boooo!

    Anyway, today I will/have....
    • Brought lunch to work (but forgot drinks:mad: )
    • Been told not to drive all the way to South Wales for a funeral (an old neighbour not a close relative) because of the weather so will save the petrol money (already put it in though so a good job it doesn't go off!)
    • Walk dog and laugh at him being all confused by the snow (done once, only 2 more times to go today)
    • Checked banks - all ok, still on course to pay an extra £250 off the debts this month - very pleased with myself!:T
    • Stick to menu plan for the week
    • Try to have a NSD day apart from a drink at work
    • Been paid the princely sum of £3 by Quidco!
    • Do some work!
That's it for today - keep warm and safe!

Random question - does anyone know how much a first class stamp and a first class large letter stamp cost at the moment? The Royal Mail website isn't working!
  • Thanks for the calculator. Had a quick look and it looks like I would be eligible for a full grant - yay! :j as I live with my parents and their income isn't included. Will have to find out how that would change when I move in with my boyfriend and if I have to apply for the grant before I see what credits I can transfer - how exciting :j
  • Hi all!!

    Today I will:
    • NSD when I 'work' from home because I couldn't make it in today! I've spent more time on here so far though... :rotfl:
    • Daily scratchies
    • List some books on Amazon
    • Write at least 1 Dooyoo review
    • Spend some time on BP and try to add to the £10 I redeemed yesterday! :T
    • Find some more items to eBay
    Cheers all!
    NSDs: 4/5

Great news about the course fees debt free me, sometimes if you are eligible for the full grant they also give you an extra £255 course grant for material for your course and for getting to and from lectures etc. Also there is an opportunity for a computer grant where you get up to £245 for a new computer or laptop to help with your studies. you can combine the computer grant with the course grant to get a better computer or laptop, but you also need to get the software and a printer included with that.

I have decided not to apply for a computer grant this time as it is on a first come basis but i will apply for my next course which starts in October as then they may have more money in the kitty.

Also just had to tell you all!! I have just won £5 on the scratchcards!!
