I have a deep and severely retroverted cervix (basically it's a long way back and points the wrong way) and they have real trouble taking a smear, I have to go to the hospital and it still took them over an hour last time  Not pleasant... The doctor who did it told me that I might have problems with conceiving and natural childbirth, I told my mum what they said and she said that I've inherited it off her. She's had seven children, all of us born naturally (and all but two of us 'accidents' if she's to be believed) and sees this as proof that us youngsters are all neurotic hypochondriac wimps :rotfl:0 -

Evening everyone
The weather here is truly dreadful. We've had snow on and off all day.The parents evening that was due to take place tomorrow has been cancelled and the school will probably be closed tomorrow.
I havent ventured over the doorstep today other than to pick the kids up from school.OH is a bus driver and on lates so I hope the roads aren't as dangerous as they look from my windows!Theres every chance if the snow continues they'll stop the buses and he'll be home early
The kids have been out playing with the snow and making a snowman. All the new snow means they can make a bigger and better snowman tomorrow.
OS wise got caught up on the housework today and made the kids a big pot of chicken and veg soup for tea from some frozen chicken stock I had in the freezer
MSD-Great news about Tristan lets hope he continues to improve
Silvercharming-Your post made me giggle as I had images of your cervix playing hide and seek

DGS has no school to-morrow, DD4 just had a text...she was thinking of leaving him home anyway as there is a truck blocking the usual road to-night which means a 12 mile or more detour, taking god knows how long in the snow...so we can all have a lie-in to-morrow.
Hugs to all who are cold and unhappy, hope to-morrow brings a better day

Have been off today as it was DH birthday and so we went to play free bingo to celebrate. Hit the bar a couple of times by one number. Oh well there is always next time. Like everyone else, the weather here is .............. snowy. Good thing was that my new wellies got some wear. I'd never been able to find a pair that fit around my chubby calves until I went to Aldi a few months ago and they were selling some that had a buckle at the tope that was adjustable. Black with white spots and only cost £7.99 happy days. Don't particularly care what I look like.
Had the remaining half of pork joint for tea with some roasties as we hadn't had a roast dinner yesterday. DSS brought a birthday cake for his dad, so we had that for afters, that was nice.
Bargain of the day for me was some wool I bought whilst out shopping, 4 x 50g balls for £1. Its that fluffy type stuff that you make scarves with. I would have got it for 50p a bag except silly me opened my mouth at the till and questioned it!! Duh, what was I thinking. Let's just say it was the snow. Anyway, it seems to be knitting up okay so that will see some Christmas presents sorted. Yes, I did say the c word. You don't know how long it takes me to do things.I got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.0 -
Evening all :hello: Hope you everyone is warm and safe. We have about 6” of snow but Mother who lives only about 12 miles away has just a bit of snow on the grass but clear roads and paths! Glad that some are enjoying the extra time at home, especially the kids, but sorry for those who still have to struggle in to work.
Managed a trip to Mr. M’s this morning and found some whoopsied stewing beef and gammon.
Swales belated birthday greetings.
Mhagster – oh dear, hope kitten is better, I can sympathise, not quite as bad, but one of our cats has cystitis at moment so is “squatting”, not always in her tray so have to confine her to one carpetless, rugless room. Could be the cold but she also gets it if she is “stressed”.
Essexhebridean http://shopping.rspb.org.uk/p/BOOKS/R0158.htm we like this book, got it as a freebie when we joined RSPB.
Hope you have a lovely holiday Donnygal.
Halight – glad it went well at the job centre.
Catznine – bet Penny looked cute with her mini snowballs!
Katholicos – will light a candle for your Dad and send up a prayer tonight, hope he gets good results.
Hilstep hope you get the results you want after your meeting.
Wonderful photo Bargainbird, thank you.
Hockeyduo – don’t miss your smear test, saved my life many years ago.
Hardhester – there are some idiots around, whilsts we were out one silly person decided it was clever to undertake the slow (sensible) traffic by using the bus lane then pushing back in.
Hugs to those who are poorly, sad or worried and furry purrs to the pets.0 -
I managed to get to work ok today. MIL left for Australia on Saturday, DH is in the Gulf. DS is discovering that he is cold yet some of his favourite people are nice and warm, and life isn't always fair :rotfl:
Take care all of you0 -
Thanks for that link Happyroly - we looked at that book when we joined but settled on THIS ONE in the end. I'll have another look at the RSPB site though.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
