Dusty, I don't have punishment suggestions but don't blame yourself too much. You can try your best to guide your children and bring them up to be good people but at the end of the day they are their own people and will make mistakes and do stupid things. If you were a bad person you wouldn't be so upset about this.

    Dusty how old is DS2...

7-11 ish then he might not know what it really means just picked up the word from eleswhere..

14-16..it might just be a peer bravado type thing....

The school are punishing him in a way that they think is right..

as for facing the teacher go in with you head held up high and speak to him about the subject...If the teacher mentions the note than than appologise only once for your son's behaviour and confirm that you are dealing with it..

    BUt higgs from here anyway

Thanks oddjob - DS2 is 12, nearly 13 and he will be aware of what he has said. He does not get on with the said teacher, but not due to his race, he is a NQT and thus not very experienced. I'm also cross that this happened on Friday and he did not tell me. We even spoke about all his lessons/teachers yesterday so I could be aware of any problems/issues before parents evening tonight.

    |Dusty, you are being given some good advice here, esp from Mudbath. I'd also make a point of talking to the Head of Year, so they are fully aware of how supportive you are being of the school and how you agree that what he has done is not acceptable.
We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.
