SSL I was thinking the same. I was one of many police checked parents who offered to go in to assist with student/staff numbers today at school, so yes greenbee I think some have already considered this type of thing as we know what a vital part of life school is but I don't think staff just working in their nearest school would ever be done.

I didn't think about police checks, doh!!! If we cant get into work, we are meant to report to our local station. So my town would have the most police officers while Edinburgh would have none because hardly anyone working in the public sector can afford to live there.

(((hugs))) G&B - here's hoping your LO gets better soon. Give her a big hug from Aunty SSL xx

I'm heading to bed now...I'll probably have to leave extra early to get in tomorrow. Much as I'd enjoy a skive, there's loads of gossip for me to catch up on. Night all xx

Now THAT is an excellent idea... You have MY vote for prime minister Miss Greenbee - that is what we used to do on days like this - sit in the school hall and learn together if there were not enough teachers - it was fun and we learned because of that... but like you say, lots of personal opinions from both sides of the fence that will never agree I suppose...

Toots woody was very taken by the snow, he licked it, he jumped on it and kept popping back out to check if it was still there. Pickle (huge fluffy mog) was rolling around in it.

Mudbath - thank you very much for the parcel, I'll update you in a month and let you know the results.

PMSL pigpen....you've just made me choke!!!

If I was a teacher I wouldn't want to live anywhere near the school....I wouldn't want to bang into the little [strike]pests[/strike] dears on my day off. I reckon you shouldn't be allowed to live within 100 mile radius of the school you work in for that very reason!! :D

This is what I wanted to say!!! Plus I can't Afford to live in the catchment area of my school! :o

In the near future I am moving to Spain, so I am supposedly getting my house in order & packing, today I actually started bubble wrapping things from the LR, so although I don't appear to have done much on the list I feel I have actually achieved something (only wasted the last month on computer & knitting). I actually took all the coal out of my coal effect fire & washed it in 'stardrops', still drying (this is proper coal not plastic, am I taking this cleaning lark too far??).

mad-050.gif Not fair! The school I was going to on supply today didn't close and I didn't get to play in the snow cos it had all melted by the time I finished! I haven't had snow like this since I was 12 and I'm 25 now! School I'm in tomorrow was closed today cos of the snow as loads of staff couldn't get in, so fingers crossed I get my snow day tomorrow!

Hugs to all who need them.

Lots of gorgeous pet pictures and lovely wedding pics, and well done soappie for finishing your floor. It looks fab!

Drive to work was hairy - there were 2 accidents when I'd only just got onto the motorway (one car had hit the central reservation and the crash barrier was literally slicing his bonnet in two down the middle, so I drove at 30mph or less the whole way there). I was fine until the lollypop lady told me to stop on a hill (facing downwards) and my car skidded straight into the pavement - luckily nothing was damaged. Not looking forward to driving tomorrow though as the roads are going to be icy.

Decluttered 0.8lb last week (weighed myself at the gym) and my body fat has stayed the same (probably all of the naughty food I ate last week). Also decluttered the dining table and coffee table by taking the dishes out to the kitchen.

Well OH is in bed now, so I think I may go and join him, as if I'm sticking to my MACAW, my bedtime is in 15 minutes. Sorry for the poor flying today. Will try to make up for it tomorrow - need to check and see if the new list is up now, and copy it into my word doc.

    Take care everyone.

    Oh I am FURIOUS
I called DS when he was out - he had his phone on him at that time - must have unzipped his pocket but didn't answer it in time and didn't call me back - - and it's gone...dropped on the park. or on the way home. Been down to look JUST and no joy so it has clearly been opicked up, I have texted it overring a reward (unspecified) and have now had it blocked. This is the second one he has lost.
It was a Nokia 5310 cost around £100 - NO WAY will he get a new one until he has saved up/earned the money and he owes me almost £50 before that anyway.
So that's over 6 months of spending on nothing else...
