Not having a good day now..I'm sitting here watching the temperature in my house drop slowly..lol. My boiler decided to pack up at some point this afternoon and now all the rads are cold  Even the cats are looking for somewhere warm and cosy to sleep on instead of the outside the airing cupboard on a hot pipe/on the kitchen floor on a hot pipe. So we have no hot water or heating now until the gas man can call tomorrow morning anytime between 8 and 1pm. I do hope it is something that can be fixed though as I do not fancy any longer than an evening in the cold. Luckily a neighbour has lent me a fire that I can plug in and use if it gets too cold for comfort which is a blessing.

I did a HHI to keep warm a while ago and I am now contemplating putting a rice pudding in the oven so that it will warm that end of the house while cooking..

Hope everyone is fareing well in the snow, and those that are snowed in aren't too effected.

Mudbath. Hope everything goes well, sending plenty of heart vibes to your dad.

    Hugs to everyone :)

JayJay I've just put a chook in the AGA - one I got with my xmas meat order.

Natty hope you get your boiler sorted in the morning - do you have hot water bottles?

Really pleased with the results in DS2 room and he loves it.

DS1 just lighting the log fire and then he can get his pit tidyed and his bed made.

    Feeling quite exhausted now.

Just popped on to say thankyou to you all for your 'healthy heart vibes'. He's had the tests and the bypass is holding fine!! I think he's just tired because he's 85 (he has more energy than me!!). Thanks again xx

I've not been on today, ill since yesterday with bad cold, awake half the night. I spent the morning tucked up on the sofa with a book. I only left it because I had a phone call from the school to ask me to pick up DS2 as suspended for the afternoon after an incident with other pupils:eek:Not as bad as I thought it might have been - he and a group of friends were clowning around, and two of them (not DS) got a bit angry and a few blows were exchanged, DS was around, but it was not him who hit out... He was upset though. His best friend was also out for the afternoon - he rang later and I asked him if his mum had stopped shouting yet - he said she didn't but they had a 'little talk'. Mmmm... I think the 'little talks' are the worst.

dusty - how are you and DS feeling today? I forgot to ask if he was on the Gifted and Talented register, 'cos it sounds like he should be.

I've done the washing up. That's it. Oh, and thrown out a couple of newpapers, and DS1 did an online shop as I don't feel well enough to go out. Not tried it before, so quite interested to see how it turns out. I'll do the bathroom on Sunday.

mudbath - very happy to hear good news.
