Hi all
I've been a very naughty gibbon today and so far, apart from scarfing breakfast and lunch I've done a fat lot of nothing - I've felt so run down and run off my feet since Mon, that I've listened to my stressed-out body today and given it a rest.
Just trying to motivate myself into dragging the books out, so quick :coffee: all round and then a HHS from 4.30-5.
I'm seriously impressed with how much flying you all seem to be doing :T
Hope everyone is well, safe and unscathed after the awful weather
Kettles on so - glug glug ahhhhhhh
(One small consolation to working in a seriously snow-disrupted airport was I was too busy to go out and buy naughties so lost another 1lb this week)
I'd rather be watching CSI!0 -
Good for you likklegibbon, you sounded like you needed a break earlier this week.
I am slowly working my way through the shredding pile. Wish we had an industrial shredder, going to take me longer to shred than it did to sort. Very boring, may delegate shortly.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -

I really need to go out into the cold and go to the bank...the pet insurance cheque has arrived and I'd like to pay it in. Then i've got to take dad for his appointment - he's having his heart checked as it's 16 years since his bypass and they last, on average, 10 years. Please could I ask for some 'healthy heart for Mudder's Dad' vibes. Thank you xx

Off to study............I'd rather be watching CSI!0 -
Got fed up with the snow so made a batch of hobnobs instead. Then the snow went off so I cleared the path at the side of the house (again). I only have a short driveway from the garage (about a car length) but there was 4/5 inches of snow in it plus across the pavement and the ridge left by the plough from earlier in the week  My back and wrists were getting sore so driveway can wait till tomorrow. Anyway watching the cars going up and down my road I'm not sure I want to take the car out even if I do clear the drive.

I think that it's all very well and good to be frugal, and practical, however, it's always a bit easier to be frugal, and practical, if our environment is comfortable. So, you'll recoup a bit on the energy costs, cos you'll be cosier, and you'll feel better cos you'll enjoy looking at them. In the grand scheme of things, is that £20 going to make a difference between being debt free and not being debt free?
My OH would never buy anything or change anything if it was down to him... fortunately, it's not!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Good luck with whatever you decide. But my vote, for what it's worth, is to keep them.
That sums up exactly what I was going to say...don't do it behind his back though, because that is one thing he will notice up I think...
ETA: See you've already answered it yourself - If hem not long enough, I would definitly get your sister to hem something to the bottom - you can take it off if need be when you move...Good luck with the chocolate eating... but cut down gradually - you can get seriously depressed when you stop chocolate cold turkey if you eat quite a bit usually, even with nice curtains...
