Depends what kind of person you are I guess but I would have absolutely no problem in someone announcing that they were pregnant before my wedding - anyone!! It wouldn't bother me on the day either - just cause for more celebration

In fact I would be fuming if any of my friends or family didn't tell me and I went off on honeymoon not knowing and being able to congratulate them myself!

for 'fuming' read a bit miffed :rotfl:
I'm with you, well maybe not actually 'at' the wedding but if you tell before the wedding everyone will sort of forget coz they'd then be talking about the wedding just after it (I'm so selfish, but hey its MY day and the other person will be preg for 9 months):p

Plus its not like you're gonna stand up in the speeches and say "everyone I'm preg!!" just telling ur Ma n Pa who will be staying tight lipped

First time we just told everyone straight away. Easiest thing to do was to announce and run as I was 'only' 19. Second time I couldn't lie as I was so ill so they found out beofre I was even 6 weeks (was ill from about 3 days after conception). This time I had 'flu ' for the first 10 weeks as there was the whole 'termination due to medical reasons' thing happening (got second opinion at my termination app). Told folk when we came out of that appointment with the facts about the risks involved. My Dad is not speaking to anyone about me or the pregnancy, and I'm avoiding him because I will seriusly slap him if he said anything negative, which I know he will.

When to tell people is a personal thing, what I will say is that if it is the first baby to the family wait till after the wedding. If there are other babies and its not such a huge family event, tell a select few.

Anyway i best report fully on the MW app,
She wasn't one from my "MW Team" but from the next town filling in for one of mine, she spotted my postit note on the front of my notes and went through it
    1st was doing my MATB1
2nd was HiPG she had the form :T I said "ooh I wasn't expecting you to have one" and she said our MWs seem to have tonnes but at her normal place they were only sent 2 forms per MW so had to ask for more which they are still waiting for  She said they aren't supposed to give us them before 25wks but as I'm 25wks tomorrow she filled it in and put 2mo's date on it :D
3rd was the overdue qu which she answered
and 4th was could I hear the heart beat and I did!! :j I've recorded it on my fone too, it was 145 I think? she had to push really heard to find it which was uncomfortable and bubs didn't like it, kept kicking me furiously!
I really liked her shame she's not one of MY ones she didn't judge me on the declining blood thing either which is nice coz I'm soo bored of having that discussion!
So I won't be on until much later, got to feed, bath put to bed Christoph and then off to hospital for the tour.

I have a question for you ladies please which is when did you or would you tell people about your pregnancy?

    Hiya Vicstar

We told everyone at 2 weeks!!! :j
You might think that mad but we were so excited after 4 goes (our final) at IVF that it had finally worked. To begin with we only told family and close friends but that only lasted a few weeks and then we didn't care who knew, we were so proud. Yes i was, and still am worried incase something went wrong but keep positive. People will tell something is different about you anyway i think. Especially a family wedding & i guess you won't be drinking :D
Good luck & have a wonderful time at the wedding.

    Dooleys:hello:
Very proud mummy to be, after years of IVF

Woohoo! It's actually to be used as 'Mummy is in hospital and Daddy has to take unpaid leave from work, so we need cash' - cash  Need to save up some more though!

I wonder... soo the insurance thing you can get on your job, pays if you are fired etc... does that pay out if you have to take time off due to a spouce being in hospital? Maybe I should look into it?

oh and I spotted in the waiting room a magazine called "You & Your Family" it's "supported by Asda and In association with the royal college of Obs and Gyne" about A5 sized similar to the emma's diary and bounty books you get in the first pack/with ur notes

If you spot one pick it up and go to page 142 and there are 4, 50p off simple baby wipes valid until 31st March 2009 vouchers ;)
There is a pic of the mag on their website here: http://www.youandyourfamily.co.uk/

I sell one of those insuances and most of them do not cover any pregnancy related illnesses, including hospitalisation for a spouse, but there is usually an element of carer cover, so if hubby had to leave work to be a full time carer for your disabled child while you are in hospital, then that may pay out.

But check it out anyway, as they all differ slightly:D

Sami - your a gud un! Wasn't one of the MW from my town was it?!!! she hopes and prays :rotfl:

Just been looking at car insurance - as I'm now 25 it reduces by half!!! So a saving of over £30 per month to go into the baby fund - plus using my NHSCashback site I will get £20 cashback! YAY :T will have £42.50 in there to go into my Paypal account. Always forget to use my cashback site - must remember especially as Mothercare and Kiddicare on there.

    Right off home now
A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Cheers MM. Last time he got full sick pay so the doctor signed him off with stress, actually he broke a rib a few days before I was admitted anyway!

This time it would only be SSP, so I guess I will just have to save up a few months stash! No realatives can take them thats for sure, they all work and MIL would soon 'get her blood pressure through the roof!'.

Will have a look into the 'carer' aspect, as by that time I will be claiming CA again.
