I suppose the Mrs, Mr, Miss helps differentiate tho

Yeah Sami- we had Mia as one of our girls names..and my name is Melissa. But the Mrs/Miss would have stopped any confusion.

All the boys/men just get Mr even the kiddies barely get Master!!

I think I am trying to persuade him away from Logan, although I don't hate it and it may grow on me, I prefer either Isaac or Kai, 'I think':)

Lou - I still sleep almost on my tum, well, I lean very far forward!! I am nearly 37wks!! I do often wonder the same thing, but he has been fine up to now.

Maybe try bending a knee up in front of you so you are not 'flat' on your tummy iykwim. Might make you feel better about it.

Glad you are home and that you and baby are OK rmac.

Re the midwife, I had a very difficult delivery with number 2 and lost a lot of blood. I was actually in hospital for 10 days, but afterwards the community midwife visited me at home until day 28. She told me that although the norm is to discharge new mums at 10 days, she was allowed (and funded) to keep visiting for 28 days (and I think even after that but would need formal clearance to keep coming) if the mum needed it. So I wouldn't worry about her suddenly stopping to come if you and baby still need her.

Well I'm off sick today - the coughing got worse last night and coughing makes my back really hurt so thought sod it - normally I'd have worked from home anyway because there is loads to get done. But after the recent attitude from work I am following the "if you're not well enough to be in the office then you should be off sick" I am thus off sick today. Tough cookies.
Just going to potter round and do little bits of housework as and when I feel up to it I think and not strain my lungs or back too much.

Have to go in tomorrow as it's the bosses birthday and I've volunteered to get the cake... sometimes I wonder if I am too nice... :)

  • Hiya all MSE devotees.

My partner and I are expecting a beautiful little girl in a couple of weeks. Yay!

But, with huge outgoings, it's going to be very very difficult to keep our heads above water. Are finances are ticking along ok, paying off debt as we go, but my partners maternity pay is a bit of a drop in income, as well as not being entitled to any child tax credits, soley based on our income, what about our expenditure? This isn't even accounted for! For someone who as paid in to the system all my working life and not to get the help which others do really annoys me.

Is there anything we can do? Anyone else to turn to for financial support?

    All suggestions welcome...

    Much love MSE
