Sami, are you going to add Auzelia's son's name (Jonah) to the list? ;) Come on love - you're slow tonight! :p

Your tea sounded fab, btw :) Me and OH are going to M&S on Saturday for a posh ready meal for Valentine's Day night... after pram shopping :D (I still realllllly want the SX Freeway Linear!)

Right, bedtime for me, I think.. Night night all xx

Auzelia - I thought of the name Jonah too, octopus mum has used it. I like biblical/traditional names :D

    Ps the octopus kids are...
"Nadya Suleman has named her babies:
    Josiah
    Noah
    Isaiah
    Jonah
    Jeremiah
    McCai
    Maliah
    Nariah
The octuplets' grandmother claims all the names are Biblical."
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.

  • Mrs Tine - There is some info here on maternity rights and maternity suspension. http://www.acas.org.uk/index.aspx?articleid=1753 At the bottom of the page it also has a helpline number (as the faq doesn't contain that much info might be worth a try?) The advice you receive from them is free see 2nd paragraph here http://www.acas.org.uk/index.aspx?articleid=1342

I am not sure if the maternity alliance are still around? would be worth a google. They were 9 years ago and had a helpline and I am pretty sure their advice was free too.

I was lying awake and it just popped into my head so haven't had more than a quick glance at the above.

elle - glad you are ok - wishing you an uneventful journey to work.

Had a family appointment at the dentist after school today - I need 3 fillings  So I sent the kids to the waiting room so that I could double check it is ok to have them just now... Dentist jaw dropped :rotfl: he recovered very well though! Apparently white fillings are fine - not ideal to have to do them - but when I got home I had a mallow cake and jumped through the ceiling so it will be done. Funny thing is that I haven't noticed a problem, until the cake!

When we got back dh was cleaning the hob - my dad was due to come up tomorrow, but has taken to coming up a day early so that I don't have a cleaning frenzy on his behalf (which is quite cute) So we had 4 hours to improve the lived in look :rotfl:

Is it wrong to have a bowl of soup at 3am? gah - don't care if it is - I am hungry!

    Morning all,

I'm at work already - came in with OH as I didn't want to risk it. That said the road's were fairly alright once we got past the bit I spun on yesterday. Looks like there's been a snow plough out to clear the site roads and it's now started to rain :( Still, I'm here now. Having a leisurely cup of tea and flapjack for brekkie, then I'll make a start on my work - got plenty to be keeping me busy! :(

Btw, CB, I was lying in the dark trying to sleep last night when at 2.15am I suddenly decided I neeeeeeeded a bowl of Frosties before I could sleep! :D

MFD, hope you had a good last day in the office and have got your feet up today!

Sami, have a good time at the zoo :)

Everyone else, hope you are all well and everyone's scans and appointments are good one! :) xx

    Morning all.
Sorry I dont really have anything to comment on last nights events as I have no idea :o
My MA has been paid today, 2 weeks worth and OH has been paid so once I've paid the rent and bills I'm going into town for some retail therapy, only thing is I have to take DS with me as it's an INSET day, but I need to get him some trainers anyway.

I forgot to say, last night I had parents evening and he's doing really well, his behaviour is still a bit naughty sometimes, but he is ''exceptionally bright and is ahead of most of the classs with his phonics skills, even children who are almost a year older than him'' *beams with pride*
So they just need to get the few social aspects of his schooling sorted and he should be fine :D

BUT and I'm bloody fuming at this, before I went I took DS to my neighbours so she could watch him while I went, and she said she was sitting in the school waiting for them to finish and was on the phone, she must of mentioned twins as when she got of the phone a woman/girl started talking to her about it, anyway they got on to the subjects of names and the woman told her ''working here puts you off names, I was in reception class yesterday and there was a little boy in there who was really naughty and horrible, he was so horrible to me and now I've gone off the name Aston because of him'' My neighbour laughed as she knows what Aston is like but I personally do not find it funny at all, this girl works in the breakfast and after school club, she is employed by the school and IMO has broken one of the fundemental rules 'confidentiality'

So at parents evening I told DS teacher and the SENCO, they were shocked and said they would have a word, I was actually nearly crying when I was teling them what the woman said, I even said to them, I'm not silly I know that teachers and staff probably talk about kids and their behaviour etc in the staff room, but for her to slag my son off to a parent who happens to live 2 doors away from me and actually be one of my good friends is a joke.

Do you think I overreacted? OK DS may be a bit of a handful sometimes, and I mean sometimes, he isnt always a little !!!!!!, even the teachers said he's got such a lovely caring and thoughtful side to him, BUT he's MY little !!!!!!, my baby and I aint gonna stand for a memeber of staff slagging him off to my friend!
I just want to give the girl a slap (obviously I wont do that)

  • Morning girls,
not to sure, but yesterday while having report and work, i think i felt baby kick/move, i wasnt to sure but the second time it made me move, im not quite 14 weeks yet, so it could be a twitch!!! but it made my happy anyhow!!
Re the work thing, at work we have have contracts in place for everyone, as example for me theres a policy called improving working lifes, so when DS was born ,to improve my life would to have set shifts, and while i was preg with DS i didnt do nights cus it disturbed my body clock which would affect baby, suppose every company is very different. Also the maternity hand book tells me that whilst im on leave, i will not accure bankhoilday days, which i thought was daft cus your still entitled to all the full time benefits when on leave, well for me ill lose out on 4 days. Im gonna start with a week holiday in july then start mat leave straight after, have 6/7 monthes off then use the remaining 5 weeks holiday leave onto that so i dont lose it.that is the plan anyway, but you know what they say about the best laid plans!!!
always on the lookout for a bargin always better when its free!!:T

Before I start on the rest of the posts - AM I think you're perfectly permitted to be upset! I would be too! I would have a word with the school on monday (as you're having a nice day today - no point in ruining it :) ) and tell them you are not impressed and expect an appology!

Right gang - I'm off to work. I didn't sleep much - not due to worry, but because the pain was so bad last night and my neck seems to have ceased up and is VERY painful... :( Getting up to widdle during the night took a lot longer because it was so painful and then it was near impossible to get comfy no matter what way I turned.
Hohum. Having my breakfast and then I'm off... Muesli and strawberry yoghurt (onken with wholegrain lol) - should keep me alive till lunch time I guess. Actually - think I'll subscribe to the union now before I leave for work :)

It's half term now, DS teacher said she will sort it but when they go back I will speak to her again.
I felt so bad for DS, he's not a bad kid really, and no i'm not one of these mums in denial, I know he can be blooming awful at times, but he's not a spiteful nasty child, just a bit defiant, Mum said he's like me, doesnt like authority.
