Jo, I didn't really have a HB kit either time, just some plastic decorator sheets from B&Q so don't worry too much. Did have a box ready for the other children though as I found that really helpful as they were more excited about opening that than looking at me and getting worried.
Too many children, too little time!!!

No space :( Absolutely tiny kitchen, and its a choice between a washing machine and a dishwasher!

I've done a couple of mugs. Just got to persuade myself to do enough plates for dinner!

Happy 30 weeks btw :D
Maybe you should use plastic utensils for now and put them in the washing machine.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Just do it all in one go, it's not that bad LOL
I actually sometimes just wash up cos i cant be bothered to load the dishwasher.
Plus OH would have a fit if it wasn't done, it depresses me seeing loads of washing up everywhere.

Oh yeah happy 30 weeks to you too  :j
Only one, well 2 more weeks and i'll have passed my worrying stage!

many years ago I was in a relationship that wasn't so perfect - very controlling and belittling - not aggressive though, but very inconsiderate. Ironically he's apparently the perfect husband now so I guess it was a case of we just weren't meant to be :) I have no doubt that had we stayed together it WOULD have become at least verbally abusive at some point. ;)

I don't think he will be perfect do you? Leopards don't change their spots. Men like that don't change

Ironically I think he might be :) I'm the first to admit he's probably the best paramedic in the area and dislike him though I do if anything happened to me or mine I'd want HIM to be attending... I know that sounds odd but despite a very bad breakup then I know he'd be professional and he'd put the health and welfare of patients before personal gripes...

Having seen him with his now wife I think that yes he might very well be a perfect husband... for her at least :) I still think he'd have been a !!!!!! to me if we'd stayed together but then again - I think there is a right person out there for everyone and sometimes there is a right and a wrong time to meet them too... I met him too young and probably if we'd met later in life he MIGHT have been Mr Right - alas I found a better model ;)

If my dh said an off word to me about dishes not being done/or put in dishwasher...I would smash every single one of them, and he knows it. He fondly refers to me as psycho-babe!!!
If household stuff needs doing, I am usually the one that does it, but if I don't dh wouldn't dare say anything, he knows the reply would be 'well why haven't you done it then'!!

Tara - I just read your post about the boxes for the kids to open. I am going to do this, although I am hoping baby arrives at night, so they are tucked up in bed. What thngs did you put in yours?
When you had your first hb, were you nervous about it? It does keep crossing my mind as to whether I am doing the right thing. Also was it 'actually' more relaxing than being in hospital? Are you having a hb this time?

    Hi Mel,

I know this was a question for Tara, but I just wanted to say that I too sometimes wonder if I'm doing the right thing having a HB, especially if someone challenges the decision, thinking it's not a good idea. That makes me feel a bit sad and vulnerable. :oThen I spend a bit of time reassuring myself.:D Anyway, if you'd ever like to share an 'am I doing the right thing?' moment with someone, I'm very much up for a PM!

ok maybe I'm a cynic but men like that rarely change. I remember thinking how wonderful a guy my ex was till I actually started seeing him and his sorry behaviour all took place behind closed doors so no one initially believed me. The same happened with the one before and after me, but I didn't find that out till much later.

Boxes had colouring books, new pencils, stickers and games in. All poundland, and things that I knew that would keep them going for quite a while. Also cartons of juice, snacks, sweets and nibbles so that my friends wouldn't worry about what they were allowed.

Was I relaxed, completely. I was in total control. How I sat, were I went, what I drank. Midwives step back and let you do what you feel you want and just step in occasionally to monitor bubs. It was in the back of my mind what if something happened but the midwives are more than prepared for that. One HB I has 2 MW's, last time I had 3. You will be lucky to have 1 in hospital for most of your labour. Within minutes of bubs being born your family are there having a cuddle. It's fantastic.
