I would agree if you can afford to go private go private. I dont want to scare you but my daughter was not moving around very much at 36 weeks . I went for monitoring and then had an emergency c section. Trust your instincts if you dont think all is well then go to the hospital. Better to go one too many times than not at all. Take care.
  • I think the use of mobiles vairies from hospital to hospital... One of my friends was in for a few days and was sending texts to me (We were on hols at the time) but in the pamphlet I received in the post the other day it says that mobiles are not allowed to be used within the hospital (she lives down south - different health authority)

    I'm such a geek

Iwas also given a list at parent craft I think it was a bit old coz it said about change for the phone and our hosp has allowed mobs for a few yrs now and they have patientline things that don't do change u need like a fiver for them!

it also said that Hubby should have some drinks and snacks or change for vender and a book or games to keep him ocupied :rotfl:
    No, just helpful!
I bet you were one of those kids in school who always volunteered to do things for the teachers :D

When I was on the antenatal day unit on Friday, there was also a bit where new mums and babys were and the midwife on the front desk said to a lady who asked where the phone box was that she could use her mobile phone, bonus.
I must admit, i used mine when i was in with DS, but i was sneaky :o
But when we was in A&E with Nan, (same hospital) mobiles were not permitted at all.

I took mine in when I had my tonsils out in 2007... and when we spent 4hours in A&E with the bleeding I was trying to text someone and every time I got my phone out the Dr walked in... He just laughed about it... I know quite a few people who work in our hospital and every single one of them uses their mobile at work... I imagine as long as it's not going off every 2 mins or you're not shouting into it disturbing other people then there's nothing wrong with having it with you... (and they don't affect the equipment!)

Yeah, got my house back, MIL gone. Not too bad a weekend but tricky as I haven't been getting on with OH too well. Really cross with him last night and the fool asked me to cut his hair this morning. Had a bit of an accident round the back of his head with the clippers. I just told him that if he wanted his wall plastered he wouldn't ask a gardener and as I'm not a hairdresser...
Too many children, too little time!!!

Elle - Any news on he parent meet up?

    Hmmm, oh yeah, that.. :o

I just told OH you'd asked and he just looked at the floor and mumbled something about not wanting to think about it! To be honest, we haven't talked about it any more since the other weekend when I mentioned it here. Will have to sort something..

Cake's in the oven. OH tried to tempt me with the mixing bowl as I usually have the scrappings - nasty OH, knowing that I shouldn't be having raw egg! :( (not sure I fancied raw carrot cake mix anyway tho!) As it'll only be ready close to when we're going out, and my Mum wants Philli topping on it (and OH forgot the Philli..), I'm going to sort topping it and delivering it, to parents and grandparents, tomorrow :D

Must find something to wear for tonight now.. It's only a pub meal tho' so don't need to go all out :)

My washing machine just died... Went pop... Blew the fuse... And isn't switching back on now... I'm going to be spending the next week seeing if it's economical to repair or if we need to use the bedroom carpet fund to buy a new washer...
