Make sure you mention that he has been quiet. It's almost 11.30 anyway.

Gosh, woman went into labour with twins last night other side of Exeter, ambulance and sea king helicopter couldn't get to her. In the end a fire engine got through and got her to hospital. Both girls ok! What a night for the poor lady.Too many children, too little time!!!0

There should be two 'health profesionals' at the actual birth, one to deal with baby and one to deal with mum.
Natalie, how is he doing? When mine were in neonatal/SCBU I was told to just express, express, express and try to have as much skin to skin contact with baby as possible, even if that was only stroking him through the incubator. Take as many pics as you can and when expressing really concentrate on baby, that helped me a lot.
He is doing really well actually , I have hundreds of pics already and I am getting cuddles most days which is nice , just wish I had my baby beside me that would cry to make my boobs react ! Thanks for the advice , what were your kids in SCBU for , if you don't mind me asking .Baby Thomas born 3 months early by emergency section on 21/1/09 weighing 1lb 15ozs .
Thomas came home after 3 months and 2 days in hospital weighing 5lb 15ozs
Thomas weighed 21lb 4ozs on his 1st birthday , a total weight gain of 18lbs 5ozs !

Well I'm back from doctors 25 week check up - bubs is fine as far as he can tell - pregressing nicely etc. Didn't weigh or measure me which I thought he would have done but ho hum - have midwife in 2 weeks so guess it can wait
Tested my urine and all fine, told me to rest and take paracetamol for the coughing and sore throat - woooooo
Listened to Roos heartbeat which was good and strong - he even commented that there was no need for him to interpret that for me really
BP 100/60 - think an all time low for me... no wonder I pass out from time to time when I haven't eaten and I stand up for too long in the warm
And rest rest rest... yeah right - gonna happen with work at the moment and MIL visiting... BAH!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0 -

Glad all is going well.
Does your pregnancy notes book have a chart that mentions measuring? Mine lists what happens at each appointment, and they don't start taking Fundal Measurements until 28 weeks round here. I've not been weighed once, but they sometimes ask what my current weight is. I've got no idea, not been on the scales for a while. Feel like a hippo so don't want to upset myself!
Hope you get the house done! I'm lucky at the moment, with all the visitors and workmen I've been having round, I've had to keep the place reasonably tidy. I tend to clean for 30 minutes, then sit for 30 minutes. Would doing that be a bit more restful that tackling it all then collapsing?angelfairy wrote: »I'm going to have a day of it but will try and post if i can, if not i will have a lurk or catch up tonight.
Aww, another hard day?I don't know how you super ladies manage it!

First time I was induced 5 weeks early with pre ecclampsia and DS1 got severe jaundice. He was in SCBU for 1 week then in a room with me having phototherapy for another week.
Second I had a placentral abruption at 33 weeks and em c section. DS2 was in NICU for 1 week then SCBU for a week due to his prematurity and the shock he got beong born!
First time it was quite hard to express but I just did it as often as I could. Though even if DS1 was not activly feeding from me, I would hold him as if I were feeding him and he would nuzzle a bit. Then looking at pics when expressing and holding a little teddy or one of his unwashed (but not poopy!) vests or something would help.
With DS2 my milk was wow! I had enough to feed 5!
Just keep at it, if it doesn't work he still got that wonderful colostrium (sp?) and that has given him an amazing start! I thought it was amazing when mine were being fed by nasal gastric tube, they would draw up some of what was in the stomach to take the pH, and EBM would be digested almost instantly!0 -

I was amazed by what I found out at parentcraft;
a new born baby's stomach can only hold 5-7mls but if you don't want to BF they would expect a newborn to take at least 30mls  (they give them a bottle with 100mls in and see how much of it they'll have) of formula in it's first feed that would stretch and distend the baby's stomach massively and the MW actually got all embarrassed about it because she said she knew it was an awful thought but thats how nutrient rich breast milk is, to get the same amount of nutrients the baby has to drink so much more formula.
Ps. have you seen the red nose day T-shirts? I've ordered Morcombe and Wise ones for me n Chris so we'll be matching :rotfl:
Feelie Will ur bump be here for RND coz the baby t-shirt has a lovely bunny on it http://shop.rednoseday.com/Category.aspx?CategoryId=470 -
So quiet on here this morning. Hope alls well with r.mac.
MW just rang to see how I was, not the one I saw last week but she had heard what happened at work. I feel really lucky to have such supportive MW's. Make the prospect of a HB much more relaxed.Too many children, too little time!!!0
