I was a bit of a tareway (sp??) as a kid and went off the rails at 15 and that lasted for 3 years till I met my now hubby at 19 and had DD at 20
My OH was a bit of a romeo to say the least !!! He lost his viginity at 13 and lost count of his number of female friends at 150 !!!!!!!!!
I was very happy that he did not tell me that in the beginning !!!
Only found that out when we were going through a rough patch and both agreed to tell the whole truth to each other for 1 whole day and that was the stupid question that I asked !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1:rotfl:The two best things I have done with my life

There were 2 at my super quick Jamie birth - one who actually delivered him and another who cleaned, weighed him, etc, while I was beeing stitched.
With Poppy's traumatic arrival there were too many medics to count! :rotfl:

As I understand it there are always 2 at the end - one to deal with the baby and one to deal with the mother. This is definitely the case in Northern Ireland and I guess it is the same here....
I am hoping that knowing that it is normal/usual will prevent me from panicking if/when a second midwife appears.please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

Sounds like it is a standard thing from what others have said too, I've been hearing about NI maternity care in the parent thread recently and it sounds fab! I'm jealous
I can't beleive you wild teenage tearaways :rotfl:
and Tine I do love you  I don't think I could look a girl so young in the eye but I'm not brave enough to do anything like youand my minds gone blank
ah ha! just remembered I felt uneasy in the maternity ward because there was a youngish mum I wouldn't say much younger than me her baby has early and in SCBU but she always stank of smoke and was always going out for a cigarette and it really bugged me that her baby obviously wouldn't have strong lungs and she was going in the SCBU covered in her smoke.
smoking is a pet hate of mine in case that effects anything0 -
LOL Sami knowing me I'd probably also ask to be moved away from anyone stinking of cigarettes... I hate them - my parents smoke (as does my entire family apart from me!) - and I have to wash everything when we return from trips home. I would certainly not be happy to sit in a ward having to put up with other people stinking of cigarette smoke
As for those who actually take their babies outside with them so they can have a fag at hospital... I would probably get close to decking them one
If they DARED breathe cigarette smoke near my baby I'd DEFINITELY get physical - it bugs me a lot they do it just outside the entrance to the maternity ward too grrrrr
Actually thinking about it I think they are by law too close the to building and doors - if there are any where when Roo arrives I'll point it out to the hospital and remind them of the "exclusion zone" that should be in effectMwahrharharhar.
At this rate I'll get a private room again - it'll just be easier for the hospital :rotfl:DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0 -

I just think it is so inconsiderate people are coming to hospital for a reason ie they're ill and breathing in 2nd hand smoke is not helpful
My Nan is the only smoker in my close family, she never smokes in the same room as Chris when we are there but I don't see her anywhere as much as I used to because I don't like him being around it and hubby gets really p'ed off when we have been because he smells of it. I used to see them once or twice a month but now its less than every other month which is a shame but my boy comes first!
Right I am going to bed now! xx0 -
I lost my virginity when i was 13, ho hum.
Well I spent best part of the evening up the hospital, Nan is okish, they are keeping her in, looks like she's broke her nose, and they are monitoring her heart as it's a bit weak and keeps missing beats.
We had a laugh before we left though as she was moaning about the senile woman next to her, and Mum had to 'tell her off' for swearing (think Catherine tate - Nan) although she did have a bot of decorum and wasnt shouting.
But as for me, well me and OH had sex this morning and I've bled, bright red blood when I wiped myself, do you think I should get it checked out?
I've been again and it's still there but only a little bit.
The midwife phone line is open from 8.30am to 9.30am so will probably just give them a call anyway, god it never stops!:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -
morning all,
sorry i disappeared last night but the lead on my laptop was playing up again. after i have bought the crib,i am buying a new lead!!!!
AM - i would get myself checked out hun just to be sure. if your nan is anything like mine they come from an era where they made them tough, although i know that doesn't stop us worrying ourselves silly does it? i was in tears daily with mine recently.
MFD - i didnt realise there were two at the birth (perhaps i might learn that tomorrow). i would have panicked when the time came had i not found that out.
I'm going to have a day of it but will try and post if i can, if not i will have a lurk or catch up tonight.
any news from Caz yet???? also, r.mac????
love and hugs to all that need.0
