FAO Krystaltips ---- Can I ask a quick question please , my boy is 16 days old now and at first before my milk came I was getting approx 20-40mls combined milk , this increased to 80mls combined but for the last few days my supply has halved , could this be because my baby boy isn't with me ? Any tips on how I can try and increase my supply as he is now having 12mls every 2 hours and I obviously want to try and give him my milk for as long as possible being as he is so premature . I am not stressing about it as such as I know this can affect supplies . Thanks in advanceBaby Thomas born 3 months early by emergency section on 21/1/09 weighing 1lb 15ozs .
Thomas came home after 3 months and 2 days in hospital weighing 5lb 15ozs
Thomas weighed 21lb 4ozs on his 1st birthday , a total weight gain of 18lbs 5ozs !

Hi Tiamai yeah at the scan place they just sort off scanned over it and said oh your sacs empty!! They measured it and it was measuring 20mm so it has grown from when i had a scan a few weeks before but will never ever pay for a private scan again. Ihave had no symptoms no bleeding or anything no cramps which is why we are so confued by the whole thing i have even started to get a little bump and i keep thinking maybe they didnt look hard enough was only on the bed for a min and i am a big girl!!! maybe the baby was hiding under all my flab!! :rotfl:
Over on baby and bump there is a lady who was told the same thing, she was booked in for a D&C when a scan revealed that yes, there was a viable pregnancy there after all! So they almost aborted a healthy pregnancy. Not to get your hopes up, but it does happen. All babies grow at different rates in the womb and remembering that what they are looking for is tiny, mistakes do happen. Fingers crossed for you!0 -
Well after an hour of trying I finally got through to speak to someone, have got to go the the hospital at 11.30am to be checked out.
blood has almost stopped, but I guess they want to be on the safeside, bubs has been quiet this morning too.
Maybe i've just been overdoing it or something.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -
There should be two 'health profesionals' at the actual birth, one to deal with baby and one to deal with mum.
Natalie, how is he doing? When mine were in neonatal/SCBU I was told to just express, express, express and try to have as much skin to skin contact with baby as possible, even if that was only stroking him through the incubator. Take as many pics as you can and when expressing really concentrate on baby, that helped me a lot.0 -

Same here, I went completely off track when I was 12, but luckily met OH when I was 14 and after a year or so he managed to knock me into line!
Evening out was nice, but exhausting! Got a few 'Oh wow you are huge' comments, lots of inappropraite comments about my boobs, more inappropriate questions about breastfeeding and lots of general lad talk! They are all in thier 30's but all are single, most don't have kids and most don't want them! They all think it is rather strange.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -

Will be thinking of you AM
I had a small bit of bleeding after a bit of a session with OH, and that was all fine. Hopefully it'll be that and everything will be fine.
