    hi all,

r.mac i know you aren't on here, but in the nicest possible way, hope not to see you tomorrow and hope you are snuggled up to your gorgeous baby and hubby.

feely, sorry to hear about your FIL. hope things start looking up for him soon.

after all the talk of tears etc this afternoon, that is the way i have been all night. just feeling sorry for myself and lonely i guess. keep feeling a bit ill, not sure if it's becuase bubs keeps moving around so much, and i feel bad saying 'i feel sick' all the time.

Hey everyone  I had my booking appointment today, didn't much like the midwife but I go to the consultant next time PHEW!!. I got my free Huggies Newborn pack from ASDA worth £5 and the first Bounty pack which doesn't seem to contain much useful except the mini cream, fairy washing powder sample, and there are some money off at ASDA vouchers which we may or may not use as we don't generally shop there. The woman at the counter said something like, " your voucher is in there" but we didn't know what she was on about and the only voucher is the ASDA ones  weird!

Still we got some bedding from ASDA too for a decent price :D Wooooo!
"the voucher" is the one for £5 off a £15 spend ;) you only get it in the packs from asda - which is why you should always get them from there not boots :D

The best bounty packs are the hospital ones and the 6mths one IMHO - one of the hosp ones I got had a full bottle of fabric conditioner, full pack of johnsons wipes and travel sized pack of pampers wipes

Feelie I really hope you manage to get passed this fear of babystuff :iloveyou:(in a non lesbian way) and if you don't get passed it your poor baby won't have anything :rotfl:

Have returned from Tesco shop with DH who went grudgingly when I explained that we're low on food, it's likely to snow tomorrow, I'm pregnant and I WILL throw a hissyfit if I don't get more milk tonight!
So £50 later and we've done pretty well! yes ok DH spent £13 on a CD but he's paid for it himself and in his defence he DID win £500 on poker on sunday night... (£250 is coming my way for the baby fund - I thought it was only far to leave him £250 to overpay on his debts lol)
My throat is getting worse and so is the coughing - I think there is no doubting that I have a proper cold coming at the moment... I could cry...

You took your OH to tesco and came out having spent less than £100?!?!?
I bow down to you :rotfl:
I "nipped" in tesco for 3 things (coriander, lamb and stock) I spent £75 :o

Elle - I watched it and thought how random that it was on!

LOL I do that.. hence being banned from visiting supermarkets unaccompanied for the months of Jan and Feb whilst we recover from Christmas! We got a £20 voucher each for Sainsburys from work at Christmas which we haven't spent yet - I think we're going to eat everything out of the cupboards and freezer and try to just survive on the £40 from Sainsburys for this month. Need to get the kitchen cupboards cleared anyway!

OH appears to be feeling in a forceful mood tonight - I've had comments about the place being a pigsty and now he's just had a rant about me not eating properly (cos I keep sleeping through teatime) and food going off cos I'm not eating it :o

I'm feeling a bit "bleugh" tonight.. Just achey and heavy (like when you get flu but I don't think it's that at all, just the best way to describe it). My feet especially feel like bricks :(

On a moneysaving note, I had a funny phone call at work earlier. It would appear my use of MSE is now rather well known (not my username, just taking advice from the site etc), even among the shift guys! A few of them have been talking about their debt problems, and one told the other to "phone Lynsey - she'll know what to do!". I've told him about MSE, CCCS and snowballing and left him a leaflet I had from the FSA about budgeting. Bless him! :A

Well it would seem you have been told misses! :p
My heart burn is being a right biatch at the moment :( I think its because my bump has had 2 over night doubling in size growing sessions in the past few weeks.
I'm also noticing that I can't breathe as easily so obviously bump is now squashing my lungs along with everything else - oh joy! I forgot how bad it is

I've been getting breathless lately. I hadn't really noticed but OH watched me tidy up the other day (ha, see, it does happen occasionally! ;)) and commented.. I know it won't be the "lung squashing" thing yet and thought it was just cos I was unfit plus I've got a stuffy/runny nose too, but I saw it mentioned on the Mothercare website (Week 17, I think - I'm 16+3 now) that it's to do with the baby having a growth spurt and there being more blood in your system for your heart to put around your body.. something like that anyway!

ETA: Found it again - http://www.mothercare.com/b/169932031/ref=sc_fe_c_1_0_169901031_14
OH also laughed when he saw the bit about getting him to help out with chores.. :o

ETA again: Time for bed for me.. Night night xx

Manic depression. Hopefully this is just temporary thing and he'll be back on his feet soon. Sad thing is, he had another grandchild born a couple of weeks ago, don't know if he is even aware of that :(

Just noticed this while reading through, i'm Bipolar too & understand, I hope he'll be ok & am thinking of him, it's a terrible illness & fingers crossed he'll come out of it soon x

Oh forgot to say, my Dad got us our baby monitor at the weekend.
It's the BT 150 and it's brilliant! It's Dect, so not analogue, which means it doesn't pick up ANY interference at all ~ it's crystal clear.
It's got a night light, has the temperature on it, can play lullabies which are already prgrammed into it, or you can record your own voice/songs onto it and even attatch it to an MP3 player.
It's 2 way too, which means you can speak through the parent handset and baby will hear you.
It's RRP is £69.99 but you can get it a little cheaper than that in some places. (I got ours from Arogs for £68 as they didn't have any left in Mothercare)
Hope that helps anyone who was wondering about monitors :)
Just been looking at this coz I'm not a big fan of the monitor we already have (this one)
I've found it on amazon for £56.03 and saw it in Tesco today for £62.??
(sorry Shellsuit :o maybe you could get some pennies back by returning it a buying elsewhere?)
