Another recipe, tried and proven. Vegan quiche without tofu. We do buy tofu, but in this case we didn't have any in.

I just got that book out of the library too! Going to make the vegan jaffa cakes first!!
I don't know if any of you like overnight oats, but i've recently discovered the idea and now have pudding style overnight oats once a week as a breakfast treat. If your interested I post about them on my blog. My latest one is a snickers style overnight oats.

That sounds really tasty. Something like that would keep me full all day, so I'm going to have a go at it.0 -
Hello everyone
I am inadvertently vegan :-)
I am doing Joe Cross juicing and have a vegan style dinner. I've been doing it six weeks now and lost 2 stones. More than that, however, I feel super healthy, super clean (strangely), and calmer than I have been i years.
I digress, if I made socca with gram flour, does anyone know how many calories?
I love my new way of life. I hope to continue indefinitely. I simply cannot believe how healthy I am. Are there any fat vegans?

Well I'm not as slim as I'd like, but I blame years of yo-yo dieting for that.
Ms Cupcake who owns a vegan baking shop in Brixton is pretty large. The Vegfamily website (an American site) has a diet club going so there must be enough overweight or fat vegans to justify it.
My DH decided to go vegan a few months ago (he'd been vegetarian for a long time and obese) and the weight just fell off him. When I went vegan 13 years ago it didn't fall off me0 -
There is probably less obesity in vegans - not always because being vegan instantly means healthy (we can still eat loads of chips, crisps and fatty crap!) - but more because by being vegan, you, by default, become more aware of what ingredients are in the food you eat, and then become more savvy.0

Well, I made the socca. Magic!!!
I still don't know the calorie content but my goodness it was tasty.
I made them quite thick for husband and thinner, crepe like for me. I filled them with stirfries veg and edamame beans, which gave me an idea. Sort of like bean burritos. I make a 5 bean chilli which is so substantial I can only succeed.
I shall read the rest of your thread with interestGrocery Challenge M: £450/£425.08 A: £400/£.May -£400/£361 June £380/£230 (pages 18 & 27 explain)0 -
Hope there is still someone around on this thread as I've only just found it!
I have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and high cholesterol and so have been looking at my diet. I am a little surprised by the high cholesterol as I don't drink or smoke, I eat lots of fruit and veg and exercise every day.
I've been looking for help and advice on the net and it seems the best way to reduce both inflammation and my cholesterol is to eat the vegan way so I am prepared to give it a try. I was vegetarian for a number of years before I had children and we eat lots of fruit and veg every meal anyway and regularly eat meals which are either vegetarian or vegan without even thinking about it.
I am still only reading the first posts but would love to think that maybe there are still some people out there who would like to join in!May GC 433.32/ 350  Apr GC 263.43 /300

Hi. Yes it has gone a bit quiet recently. I haven't had my cholesterol checked for years and years. Just out of interest what do they consider 'high' these days? Also have you read this? It's very enlightening.0
