    Hi all,

I was hoping for a little help / pointers in the right direction.

I've looked and looked, but can't seem to find any recipes for savoury vegan pancakes for tomorrow, and I was wondering if any of you lovely people had some recipes?

    TIA,

    Tracy x

i;m not vegan but do like to lurk on here for some lovely recipes.
what about garlic mushrooms, should be easy enough with dairy free marg/olive oil, garlic and seasoning. yum yum :D

    Falafels
    Houmous
    Ratatouille
    Roasted vegetables
    marinated tofu
    cheesly
    Redwood meat substitute slices
    to name a few

Anything savoury you would put in sandwiches would probably work. Hope this helps.

    Hiah all,

These beetroot pancakes that the vegan kid shows on his blog look good.

He says "This recipe combines indulgence with nutrition." always a good thing hey!

  • hello all,

well I've gotten a bit distracted from weezl's super frugal challenge as my lovely OH proposed on Tuesday! :D

So now I'm busy planning a wedding for October and my new query for you all is - do you know of any caterers who specialise in or do a good vegan selection?! I've found one but i think it would be best to find a few quotes.

Much as I'd love to be super frugal and make the food myself (i do love cooking really) I think doing a buffet for nearly 100 people might make my head explode.

    Thank you!

    Congratulations Twinkle, fabulous news :)

I know of a veggie/vegan caterer in Sussex but that may be a touch too far for you.....sorry! Having looked at a wedding buffet they created for someone in blogland, it made my mouth water!

    Congratulations twinkle!

I think exclusively vegan caterers will be few and far between. Why not speak to other caterers and tell them your exact requirements - they might be more than willing to do a vegan reception - and you never know, it might encourage them to offer it as a service in future. Or they might know of vegan caterers.

    Congratulations!

Veggie cafes sometimes do outside catering, so if you have any local, its worth asking them.

Noticed when in holland and barrett today that they are selling easter eggs that are vegan. The brand is Celtic, same as the small chunky bars they sell and the boxed chocolates that they sell near christmas. They came with a few mint crisps also.

    Hope this helps someone

Twinkle star, you could put a advert on the vegan notice board for a wedding caterer in your area and see if you get any replies. Worth a try and no cost!

Congratulations!!:j:j was it all the down on one knee business?!

Unfortunately, I wasn't vegan when I got married. However, last year for my suprise bday party, my sister arranged to have cup cakes made by a company in Enfield (north London) so they may have Welsh contacts if you want me to find out?

As for caterers, My Vegan Friend's sister got married and got a vegan caterer to do some food (it was outdoors in a forest, yay!) so although again it might be beyond a good distance for you I can make enquiries.

Wow, how vegan can you make this wedding? That could be a whole new thread and challenge.

Have been very midnful of being absent from this thread, just so much going on these last couple of months. So am going to play catch up for the time being  hope everyone's ok!!
