  • Morning,

Well it's all hit the fan today. Mum called on my way into to work to say my aunt had died. She had been battling cancer for about a month and things were loooking up. They let her home at the weekend but sadly she passed away last night.
Unfortunatly it was found that she had been ill for quite sometime but had not realised it.
All the family were around her which is good but it just seems so unfair to be taken so quickly, like she didn't have a chance. She was a wonderful women who was very active and not very old either. We are a close family, she is my Papa's SIL, and I just feel robbed.

Sorry to start the post on a downer but I am in so much shock that all the troubles that have been nagging at me seem so insignificant now.

Hugs to all out there who are not well or are struggling on. Hope everyone has a good day and make sure you all give you family a big hug...even the dog:D

    xx

Catznine - I had a pm from R.Mac yesterday, but she may have gone in after she sent it! R.Mac - good luck, whenever it happens.

Halight - I'll be round later, then!

Tru - I would DEF do separate trolleys because it would drive me really mad! My DH was a bit like that but I used to take most of the things he chose out, and put them back on the shelves! The last time he came with me, I was amazed because he has obviously been watching and listening, and he spent time studying labels and quantities to get the best value for money! His LBM came when I showed him the difference between washed, trimmed and wrapped leeks, and loose ones. The prepared ones (and let's face it, how long does it take to wash and trim a leek?) were almost twice as dear. In fact, he's become a bit obsessive about it and tells everyone he meets!

Well, I shouldn't have sat back down here! Back to the chores.

Morning all..............((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))) if you need one.

Another grey, dank, horrid day, so dark I have the light on in the sitting room.

OH till asleep, yesterday was another 'good' day, fingers crossed for today.Edited, he was not asleep but in the shower and getting dressed!!!

Did my tot up last night came in just under budget for January......have to go to the PO today and draw OH and the balance of my HK for the fruit and veg.
I had to pay the window cleaner yesterday out of my savings purse.

Waiting for a re-fund to come through for the mechanical breakdown cover on the old car, its only been going for 3 months, but I am only getting 50% back......3 months cover plus adcosts taken off......that means it costs over £40 for someone to click a couple of buttons on a computer and put the cash back into my account!!!!!!!!!!!

Plans today, I made the last block for a yesterday, photographed it and realsied it was wrong, so undid it, have to de-do it, plus one of the other blocks does not look right, so sorted out enough fabric to mle it again, fortunately its a simple one, so should not take too long to get it done.

Bread maker needs to go on with another loaf, have enough for today......roast beef salad for supper tonight, of the beef I froze from Christmas..........will make oranges in jelly for afters, ages since we had them.

Hope it brightens up a bit.......its so dank and very depressing, even snow would be better than this!!!
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

    Good morning ladies and gents!

Grey and blustery and damp here today, so I've taken my cuppa back to bed with me! Well I did work last night! :p

OS wise the WM is going, pots are washed, kitchen S&S, BM going with dough for rolls, chicken roasting in moski for dinner, dog walked, animals fed and watered, kids waved off to school!

I still need to mop the kitchen and utility, a futile task in this weather with a dog and cats and their muddy feet  and I need to have a really good hoover through, will wait till later though, it'll give me something to look forward too :rotfl:

Looking forward to tonight, it's our monthly village ladies night, pot luck supper this time, so best think of something to cook and take. We have some fab cooks in the village, so this is one of my fave types of ladies night! Have a selection of paperwork to do today, checking some files for job no 2, so will be messing about on here as an antidote to the boredom of it! Best stick my glasses on so I don't end up with a screaming headache later!

Lunch today for me should be some soup - need to clear some freezer space, so will have to get eating! Kids took hm cheese rolls, apple, banana, choc cornflake cake and hm yoghurt with honey.

Dinner for the kids will be roast chicken with hm chunky chips and some frozen veg - more space clearance! The chips reminds me that I forgot to get some oil, we have it in huge containers at work and it works out much much cheaper, so meant to grab one and forgot, doh! Will get a friend to pick one up at work tonight, don't think we usually sell them, so don't wanna miss a bargain!

Going to catch up now, have a good day all and lots of hugs to those in need xx

    Hi!

I spotted this thread when I signed up to the February grocery challenge and thought I'd take a peek...

I can feel the warmth of this thread even though it's freezing! You're so supportive of each other, it's really made me smile despite having a 6.45am start at work for the fourth time this week, although I'm only in work until 10 today :j then I'm off to my singing lesson, which is just about the best part of my week.

I hope everybody has a lovely day, and to those who need one *huuuuuuuuug*

    Morning all,

I'm one tired Ninny tonight so I'll hit the sack shortly. Been another humid day with showers. I packed for DGS this morning. Came home and got a few things done. He came back after lunch. DH brought the truck home as he delivered DD's things that she dropped off at his work. We waited down the jetty for him to get off the car ferry and he took us for a ride. I live an exciting life. :D DGS loved it.

Had corn pancakes & salad for tea followed by icecream & fruit. DD coming over tomorrow morning. I hope to put in a big day finishing off etc. I hope the weather isn't as humid.

Hockey duoSorry to hear of your loss. <hugs.

Hockeyduo - I'm so sorry to hear about your aunt, hugs to you and your family xx

Kathy - I love the idea of your OH preaching about leeks to everyone he meets lol!

Free - great news about your IVF, congratulations! Hopefully another OS babe will soon be on its way! And good news about your IVA, bet a huge weight has been lifted from your shoulders.

Sunnygirl - ah the miracle that is lentils lol!

Taplady - happy birthday to Master Tap!

Halight - good luck with the volunteer work, sounds like it'll be good fun, and also great experience. I'm so impressed how you just get on with things and don't mope about, go you!

Tru - hope the shopping goes okay and Mr Tru survives, perhaps you should send him out with Kathy's hubby! lol! My ex was exactly the same with treats, once he came home with bags and bags of stuff but absolutely nothing that could make a proper meal! That was an interesting week here! Funny but he never went again without a list!

Just been and put some yoghurt on, thanks for the reminder Thriftlady! It's usually automatic to do after I've done the pots - I'm desperately trying to make everything part of an automatic routine so that cleaning and housework and everyday jobs just happen - think that was when the doorbell went though, got roped into more charity stuff, ah well, it's good fun really!
