  • Free in Three - just wanted to congratulate you on your IVF and wish you the very best of luck. xx
To be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough.

    Morning :hello:

My mum is retired and is easily bored :D so she suggested picking me up to go shopping once a week, partly so it fills a morning for her and partly to save me a fortune. Plus we'll get to eat cake, drink coffee and gossip :D I wrote a list last week, we should've spent no more than £35 - we spent over £80  I stuck to the list, mr tru didn't  It seems like the less money we have, the more he spends on food *sigh*. So, if he wants all the extras, he'll have to go by himself. I'm hoping that once he sees how much he's spent on them, he'll soon stop - I think he doesn't realise just how much extra he's spending cos his 'wants' get mixed in with the 'needs' in the trolley. Maybe splitting them up will do the trick?

We're going shopping later - last big shop together, lol - so hopefully he won't spend too much

I'm making flapjacks today and that's it :D The cake tins are full and so are the freezers so no need to make anything else. Did you hear that, mr tru? THE FREEZERS ARE FULL :rotfl:

I'm hoping whatever's wrong with me is easily diagnosed by the doc tomorrow, so he can either fill me full of pills (not my first choice, I won't take pills unless absolutely necessary) or give me a list of things to do - exercises, etc - that'll help me sleep and see the world normally again. I'd much prefer that, to fix myself in a proactive way - I like to be in control of me, rather than pills controlling how I feel. I know the pills won't actually control me, but you know what I mean :D

    I've been Money Tipped!
    :hello: Good morning!

I got up early today to see dh off to work, with a lovely warming bowl of porridge and dem sugar each. 1 washload is finished and waiting to go onto the airers in the conservatory, I don't use a tumble dryer now and haven't missed it. There will be more ironing to get on with today though:rolleyes:.

hm veg soup and left over matzo crackers for lunch followed by fruit

Leftover beef stew for dinner followed by stewed apples.

Dried fruit, oranges and a banana should make up my 5 a day.

Hope to get off to our ms centre today after I have walked Penny. It is getting colder out there though! maybe another :coffee: first!

Has anyone heard from r.mac? Her baby is due about now!

(((hugs))) and prayers for Tristan and msd, pp, smoky, ivyleaf and anyone else who could use one.

    Catz x

    Good morning all
Cold and foggy here in Essex this am the police speed camera van thingy was out this am hopefully he is checking car tax and next door but 2 has been caught again he has 3 cars a drive and a garage but uses none and parks outside mine and next door taking 2 spaces so we have to go half way down the road we used to park on the back but the council put railings up to stop the travellers going on the field behind us so i cant get the swing on the estate to get it in one of his other cars is parked over their drive and the other on the pavement across the road at one point none of the cars had tax why are some people so selfish:mad: rant over

Have just made the spag bol for tonight which I've now found out is feeding 8 people :D I put 500g of mince, 2 onions, 2 rather wrinkly peppers, 2 carrots, a stick of celery & a large handful of lentils in the pan with a couple of rashers of chopped bacon, a jar of pasatta, herbs & seasoning. Its simmering away now. Its made loads :D :T There'll be enough to freeze maybe two portions so I'm very pleased!! I used the food processor to finely chop all the veg so that nobody can see them & am hoping that a long slow simmer will melt the lentils almost away. It's the first time I've used them in a spag bol - can you tell :rotfl: Ooh and it tastes lovely & smells fab!

    Mortgage-free Glee!
Morning Everyone! Still grey and damp here. Only advantage if it snows is that I won't need to decide whether school stays open or not! It was always my least favourite decision! Also, that often means it's a bit brighter too - I need brighter!
Am having a less than positive week - my motivation to get of my $$se and DO something seems to have disappeared.
I did bake a cake yesterday - boiled fruit cake - old recipe I haven't used in about 20 years! DH really liked it tho'. Tried a chicken and pasta recipe from Good Housekeeping's website for supper, not bad. Today.....who knows?
Free - so pleased to hear about the IVF, really hope it works for you.
Mioliere - like you, I acquired my TD in the days of terry nappies, loads of babyclothes and very wet Fen days, which never seemed to change! I do try to use fresh air and airers in the conservatory, but I hate washing hanging around the house for too long, making everything seem damp.
have a good day if you can - and ((HUGS)) to all who need them.
    Resolution:
    Think twice before spending anything!
