Sounds like a bargain, but I discovered last month that all Surrey libraries offer Ancestry free so you may find that other areas do the same. Only drawback is that you are limited to an hour a day on the computers there, but I have been known to go armed with one of the childrens cards just in case...0

Excellent!
I just swapped from a UK monthly subscription @ £18.95 a month to this at around £76 for the full year - about £6.30 a month!
Same UK site access, everything. And I've checked and I've been billed the correct amount - £76.
For those taking up this offer - beware that they add on a small amount of AUS tax to the overall price. This is clearly listed at the final check out stage on the Ancestry website.
A definite bargain.0 -
Did you create a new account or use your existing one? I am sorely tempted as its a great offer!0

Thanks OP, sounds pretty good  does anyone know if you can do more than one tree at a time i.e. totally unconnected?I love a nice juicy "kebab"...0

Thank you very much dawnp for great spot. I have done this, using my existing email, but it opened a new account without me realising. This is slightly annoying as when you try to search from the family tree software it shows the padlock symbol, but when you actually click on it it opens and searches fine. However, the 'merge' facility stays grey, so cannot do this and I'm having to enter everything manually. However, its saved me loads so I'm not complaining!
I'm not sure how you would go about opening from your existing account as mine was with .co.uk not .com.au.0 -

Yes, you can - just give them different names - there is an option for 'create a new tree' - I have 4 - 1 for each side of my family and 1 for each side of OHs.0 -

As I said in my earlier post my subscription is due to expire and this would be a huge saving. I was concerned there wouldn't be exactly the same access as the UK site but you haven't seen any difference have you? Do you also have access to the pre 1837 parish records? I would only need the UK records but would consider taking the World Heritage package at this price if this is the only option with the parish records.
Sorry to be a nuisance and thanks0 -
wont they twig the money and accounts are in the uk?A happy wife, and mum to 2 lovely little boys :j0

I took out the UK heritage package - this seems to give me the same access I had before, including pre 1387 parish records (transcripts not original copies) - I've never had the worldwide option, so I don't know whether this offers any more in the way of UK parish records?0 -
I was just about to take out the basic UK package and have my first attempt at tracing my family tree. When I saw this thread I was so excited.
I am now thinking about the Worldwide option BUT last night I had a bit of a play on the .UK site and set up a basic family tree. I did not subscribe though. I assume that this will still be there as an account though, waiting for me to subscribe. Am I likely to run into problems if I start again and subscribe to the .AU site.
It seems such a bargain I would hate to miss out on it.
For those who have already subscribed .... when it brings up possible relevant links, will all the foreign ones appear first?Thank you for this site :jNow OH and I are both retired, MSE is a Godsend0
