Thanks for that poppy, we don't have a shop round here and i'm not travelling.
Just spend another hour on the phone with a lovely man this time.
This is where i'm up to,
the new phone is sticking on the menu page, and i have to take the battery out and try and put it back in.
I have no signal whatsoever, can't phone out, or send text messages, but i can receive them.
Virgin are going to send out a new phone, for this sticking one, and after the fella agreeing with me, i've cancelled mycontract, which i really didn't want to do, because the 300/300 for £10 a month was brilliant.
And he is going to see if he can get the phone unlocked for me, if he can't i will have to pay £15 for this, which is cheaper than the phone shop wanted.
So i'm of to try and find a new sim card, going to look at o20 -

sim card came today, very fast
put in new phone and hey presto no network
searched and got, the virgin network, but then it went of
trying to send text messages and guess what no network coverage
I'm going to have to leave as nothing is working now.
Plus it's going to cost me £20 to get this phone unblocked.
i'm sorry 2 hear about that chris,
my advice would be to try a few friends sims in your phone b4 deciding on network - to make sure it works & that u have coverage. don't forget virgin use t-mobiles network - so t-mobile is out of the question.0 -
thanks grimlea, no don't have sim cards to try
last fella said that it was the best for me to leave, with the problems i'm having
so i'm going to try the o2 sim card, if that doesn't work it shouldn't be a problem, as it's not a tied into contract.
not touching t-mobile for sure
is there anyway i can get this phone unblocked for free, cause i really didn't want to leave virgin, but i had no option, we had tried everything.0 -
get a t-mobile number from a friend & email john.everson at t-mobile.co.uk
at technical support about your signal issues from your postcode
When t-mobile denied a 2 year problem with our local transmitter, john admitted there was a known fault on this transmitter & T-mob were prob waiting for the 2G cell to fail completely & replace with 3GSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe

the staff in the shop would get through to the same people & recieve the same advice
They sorted me out when I first took a contract with them. For some reason although I took out a contract with them on Wednesdays by Friday I was still not live. I rang CS and could get nowhere with them despite them ringing me back about 5 times to say it would be live within an hour! OH took out a contract with them on Friday and was live within 1/2 hour. While in the shop with OH I told them of my problems etc. and they made 1 phone calls and my phone went live. Can't remember what the problem was, something to do with some numbers hadn't been processed properly.

i work in the call centre & the virgin shops get exactly the same service as the customer - why would it be different?0 -
I have to say that i have nothing but praise for the people who work in the call centre.
They have been real helpful to me, and have said that they would ring me back, over my problem, and each time i have been told this they have kept to there word.
My phone all day has said 'no network' on it, i can't call out or text, but i can receive texts, but not calls.0 -
I've no idea but they did get my service up and running immediately, all I got was fobbed off and I can assure you I'm quite persistant.i work in the call centre & the virgin shops get exactly the same service as the customer - why would it be different?

texts require very little bandwidth from the network, less for incoming than outgoing....rarely does in work & not out, so its defo a signal problem with T-mobileSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe
