I had a samsung E250 phone, and am on the £10 a month 300mins/300texts with virgin, well for a while now, i just can't for the life of me get a signal.
I'm told that t-mobile provide the service, virgin told me that it was probably because of my 12month old samsung phone.
Using my rewards from virgin and virgin being nice, because they could see that i've contacted them loads over the signal problem, they sent me out a sony ericsson w302 phone, this arrived today
i've put my virgin sim card in and all i get on the front of the screen is 'emergency calls only'
I've tried searching for a signal and i just can't seem to be able to choose the t-mobile signal it is coming up as 3rd choice, when i do it manually
Has anyone any ideas thanks, i'm really getting pooed off now.
Also how can i make the light stay on my screen longer?
thanks

put the sony ericsson w302 on ebay, buy a new phone from a different network (who you know has signal in your area) get your PAC code & give it to your new supplier0

I've been on this £10 a month with virgin for a while now, and i've never had a problem with signal until october.
I've just done a search for a new sim card, not bothered about getting a new number, but i can't seem to get a deal like the above.
Just rang virgin, but there shut, would ordering a new sim card from virgin work.0 -
virgin are open 24/7 every day of year - even xmas day
have they sent u a replacement sim to try?0 -
Hi
No there wasn't a sim in the pack,
when i rang yesterday to complain, they offered me this phone, free. Actually i like the phone, it's better than my old samsung E250, and i don't want to spend a lot on a new mobile.
Then the lad said that it could be my sim card, as i've had it a few years, and that i could order a new sim from them, keeping my number i have now, but as soon as i order the new sim card the one i have now will stop working.
then i have to input the new sim card when it arrives,
would this really make a difference to signal output.
thanks from a not so techni woman0 -
yeah it can make a difference, i have sent them out to customers in the past & when i've done follow up calls it has worked0

Hi
Do you work for virgin then?
I will do that tomorrow morning, i can live without a phone for a few days, if this doesn't work then i'm at a loss.
I'll just get the phone unlocked at a shop, and try and search for another sim card, but i really don't want to.
thanks a lot0 -
hi, yeah i work in the call centre in trowbridge. i would one of the ppl who you go through to with problems like this.
it can be quite tricky identifying the problem, i have assumed that they will of done all the signal & cell tests in your area to get to the point where they are looking at handset & sim cards being potential problems.
Personally I would of normally sent replacement sim before a handset, but then the fact you got handset as part of your crave & if you didn't have to pay anything other than P&P then it might b better u got a nice shiny new handset.0 -
Hi
I had £40 worth of rewards and they sent this phone out free of charge didn't even have to pay for delivery, because of the amount of time i have been ringing them.
The problem i'm now having is i've put the sim card in the new phone, and i've tried to search for a network but i can't seem to get on the t-mobile network, i just get
o2 uk
vodafone uk
orange,
and that's all, the mobile phone does only have 2 small bars on the signal setting.
How long do you think a replacement sim would take.
thanks0 -

I was talking to them at 00:20 this am so suspect you rang a sales numebr or similar - 789 from your mobile I think is 24/7Hate and I do mean Hate my apple Mac Computer - wish I'd never bought the thing
Do little and often
Please stop using the word "of" when you actually mean "have" - it's damned annoying :mad:0 -
0845 6000 789 from a landline will get you through as well0
