virgin/t-mobile

we normally say upto 5 working days - its delivered by royal mail.
the fact that when you do a manual network search & there is no t-mob or virgin network does concern me - that is in effect the phone looking for netwoks - not the sim card. did they def do a cell check in your area - they would of needed to check with the tech team & would of possibly involved the call centre calling you back0 -
on my old samsung E250 and my even older nokia 6230 that i've been using, i've managed to find the t-mobile network, but not with a strong signal.
virgin have said that they have been testing the signal quality in my area, when i've rang up and that it is ok.
sometimes i have to hold the phone in the air and try and find a signal, then when i try and send text messages i get error, and i have to keep re-trying. Then i save the message and try again a bit later.
I rang free phone 08000520837
i will go and try this number again.0 -
A couple of months ago my OH and myself suddenly lost our Virgin signal and then intermittently for 2 days we couldn't make or receive calls. Very strange but they sent us new sims which arrived within 2 days and we have been okay since.
They were also excellent at replacing my phone. I have a Samsung U600 and the screen went funny after about 6 months. One phone call and they said they would text me when the courier was bring new phone. Even reminded me to store my numbers etc. on sim. Phone arrived next day. A little white lie from call centre though when she said it was very unusual to have a problem with Samsung phone. The courier who collected said "Samsung?" and I said yes and he said he'd been collecting/delivering loads of them as they were faulty.

i would use the 0845 6000 789 number, i think the 0800 number will be sales number as judderman mentioned & if you do get through it will not be the correct department0

Hi
Just used the free number again, got through to sales, who put me through to a nice lady, who asked me how long i'd charged my new phone,
i told her the 3 hours that it said on the leaflet.
She said that it needed a good 24 hours and that is why it isn't picking up a signal....................
so i'll do that tonight, then i'm going to sort out the sim card and then order a new one.
thanks guys0 -
right and another one, when i go into contacts, then my number, i'm guessing that my phone number should come up from my sim.
But it isn't there is a phone number that i don't know0 -
hmmm, i really do hate to say it - but that sounds like crap to me - i hope it works but i've never had that come up on our diagnostic tool (maybe i've asked it the wrong questions).
see if it works first thing in morning & if not call them back.
the way i see it is that the amount of charge shouldn't effect the performance in that way, it would just effect the amount of time the phone will hold its charge. good luck & hope you get it sorted
let us know either way0 -

that might be one for the call centre to deal with, i can't think of the top of my head.
before you call the call centre again take your sim out of the phone & write down the serial number which appears on the sim. when you are on the phone to them ask them to check if the sim serial matches their records0 -
did think it was a bit of a can't be bothered answer, but hey i can only give it a go, she said she gets annoyed when people only charge there new phones for a few hours, as 1st time it should be given a good charge for 12 to 24 hours, as it prolongs the battery life.
i'm of to sort out the sim and any photos i have on it, and i'm going to order a new one 1st thing tomorrow morning. As it seemed to work for poppy
head is banging now,
thanks grimlea for all of your answers and your offer of help.
i will keep you informed0 -
i was wondering if the phone was a re-conditioned one0
