But if the rewards token has expired after say 4\5 months (because it was early this year we ordered them) then it sounds a little off not refunding the points seeing as the original points were\are valid into next year anyway?. The concert tickets thought above might be a point. But as said the attached points are valid for a lot longer than the token states.
Sorry, but I don't see how the date of the original vouchers has any relevance.
You had valid vouchers, you converted them into reward tokens - they had an expiry date on them, that is what matters. It gives you an 'option' at that value up to that date, if what you were interested in, was not available, and you could or would not be exercising that 'option' then the token(s) needed to be returned for credit of the original points before the expiry date. Otherwise, if you don't take up the 'option' -= the 'option' lapses!!I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -

Well I guess either they will or they wont refund as only time will tell and depends on who deals with it. But what if they were sent back in time but never received or refunded to the account for some reason as the clubcard account had not been updated to reflect the return of tokens?.
Returned tokens would & could assumingly take time to show on the account afther being sent or if received at the other end at all. If after a reasonable time of waiting, say 2 months returned tokens points do not show on the account what then?. Would it be fair to assume if your expected to return before an expiry date yet have to wait a reasonable time for the returned tokens to show that if the reasonable waiting time means they will have expired in that waiting time but still have not been credited then you can possably still claim the points back as lost in the return process?.
What would happen if a call was made tomorrow to point out that the clubcard statement for this quarter we got at the weekend does not reflect returned tokens sent back a little over 2 months ago?.0 -

When reward tokens are returned, Tesco Freetime write back acknowledging the fact, and advising when the points should appear e.g. - by your next statement, which may mean the day before the cut-off date or a week after the letter either way it doesn't matter it's still in time for the 'next statement'. Clubcard will be able to tell you if it has 'happened', but only Freetime has access to tokens coming in, correspondence going out and hence the points going on (and on what CC).
If tokens are to be returned, it is wise (and Freetime advise it) not to post in a post-box, but at a Post Office with either proof of posting or recorded delivery. Moreover, that proof should be dated before the expire date.
Hope this helps.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -

Well yes and no but thanks for the reply anyway. As the clubcard site makes no mention of they will send an acknowledgement of receipt when tokens are returned as neither does it state they have to be sent back recorded del either from what I can tell. All it does is state the "Tesco Freetime" address to return them to. They were sent back in the same manor as they were received (standard postage) and that would in 99.9% of cases be accepted by any company as an acceptable postage method. Besides as far as I know a statement to say something was sent back before a certain period is generally accepted as true in postal terms in a lot of aeras if the other party claims non receipt. More so in that it would have been mentioned to tesco that they were informed of a return of tokens several weeks ago.
In this case if adviced when calling that they would appear on the next statement which seems correct to be told, then if when the statement arrives they are not on the statement as points or any mention of on the clubcard account. The issue is that the tokens get returned to 1 place, the freetime 1? but the enquiry and call number is another place, clubcard right?. So if there is a breakdown of communication between the 2 if they were ever received and we claim we have sent them and enquired about them in a reasonable period as per call to clubcard several weeks ago then what?. Seeing as it's been over 2 weeks since we contacted them about the issue with nothing from them barring the auto responce then they sure go through some busy periods where things go missing or lost in the clubcard process for no obvious reason.0 -
Donny909:
I have spoken to many people who have referred to the letter they have had from Tesco Freetime about the returned tokens.
Let's assume for the moment that tokens get returned - how to keep track - three ways:
- keep an eye on your receipts- if the points total suddenly jumps up, its a good clue.
- contact Tesco Freetime - to see if the tokens were received. They'll either say yes, or no - if the latter yes it would be wise tohave some sort of proof that they were sent and when. Not to would open themselves up to all sorts of 'claims'.
- call Clubcard, to see if points had been recently added.
Freetime could make an error in allocating the points by quote the wrong card no, though unlikely. Hence, they are the most important contact. However, on that theme Clubcard would be the ones to talk to if had been rec'd but the points allocated to another clubcard no of yours - perhaps still at an old address!I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
Quick question about the Tesco Christmas Saver. Is it just me adding £X per week to my shopping that goes in the savers thing? Or is it all my coupons etc? Or something different?0

If you go into the Xmas Saver, you only get vouchers once a year - November, you are able to add money to it, and if you add enough - Tesco will give you a bonus amount to go with it.
However, the top-ups and bonus vouchers can only be used in-store or on-line at face value, and not for reward tokens or voucher exchange. Moreover in the middle of a (non-Xmas saver) mailing - you can't come out and expect to get vouchers, just because there's a 'promotion' you want to use them for.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -

I see. I was just wondering because it seemed to me you could have a clubcard you didn't use, put £100 in the top up in October and get 6% interest (6 Pound). I haven't really read the rules though, maybe this isn't allowed.0 -
I have found £11.50 worth of tesco vouchers that came with clubcard statement, I thought they ran out next month but they ran out on 31st August 2011, so thats 20 days ago tomorrow. Will they re-issue them still?Thanx

If the expiry date is 31/08/2011 then they were sent to you in August 2009. Whereas if it was the last statement, they would say 31/08/2013
However, if it is 2011, and they have therefore gone out of date, ring clubcard and they can roll-them-over (convert them back to points) - and they'll come out to you again in the next mailing.
But, if you find any others that are dated Feb 2011 or even 2010 - forget they are dead!I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0
