Hi all, we got £240 worth of hotel rewards tokens at the start of the year (not that it states hotel tokens on the tokens itself) yet by the time they arrived our choice of hotel was no longer available as an acceptable useable location and other personal matters meant they pretty much got forgot about. The tokens indicate they are valid untill 30/6/11 so of no real use as I post. So does anyone know if the value (£240) can be refunded to the clubcard account as there are other things we couls use the value for?.0

yes, i have had points recredited, but that was years ago, and they were only just out of date - im not sure tesco are so lenient anymore
according to the T&C if they expire you have lost the points. but nothing ventured nothing gained. return them and see what happens

Sorry if this seems harsh, but why didn't you know how the system works? This is the second one this year, three last year, there have been TV adverts, the Clubcard statement you get has a step-by-step guide how convert your vouchers into Exchange Vouchers, moreover as soon as you arrive in the entrance of most participating stores there is a Clubcard voucher exchange booth and hoardings there.
Granted, as you said you asked a member of staff, however you quote the phrase 'double up my points' - it's quite possible the assistant thought you meant double points at the till, which yes is correct - double points has being on for nearly two years. Sorry to appear pedantic - but if you had referred to 'voucher exchange' you would probably have got a different answer.
At the till - maybe she didn't realise you were giving her ordinary vouchers, then again maybe she was on automatic pilot! If you had noticed the price difference before you paid, the situation may have been retrievable, but afterwards .........I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -

Judging by the expiry date, this was probably a reward deal you ordered in November at four times the voucher value i.e. it cost you £60 in clubcard vouchers. Though you first choice hotel and location wasn't available what about the second or third choice - and there should be some good ones about for £240!?
It's like having a ticket for a show in 'x' months/weeks time - if you know you can't make the 'show' you send the ticket back for a refund (they can re-sell it) but after the event you can't - it's expired.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
I've had a little look at this thread..not a lot admittedly as Tesco clubcard seems to have changed drastically since I last had one!
I'm hoping someone might be able to help who knows how it all works..
Back in the 'old days' when I did have a Tesco Clubcard they used to post out vouchers for money off this that and the other.
I found out several years ago that I am Coeliac and I found that the vouchers I would be sent were pretty much for cakes, bakery, biscuits - all of which were now useless to me.
I have asked in store a few times to find out whether you can 'tailor' the vouchers to things that you can eat but so far I've had blank looks to my query.
I live alone so won't pile up huge amounts of points as I don't spend much for my shopping but I'm wondering if anyone has successfully engineered vouchers to suit their dietary needs?
If it is possible then I'll apply for a new card - but admittedly getting money off vouchers and then not being able to use them got to be a bit disappointing after a while - bit of an anti-climax as the vouchers seemed to try and encourage me to buy things which I didn't buy - but also all the things that would make me very ill.
There was a marked contrast in what vouchers I received prior to my diagnosis and since - because my shopping habits had to change.0 -

I don't think it is possible, Tesco send you vouchers for things they want you to buy not based on what you buy. This is their marketing ploy that you are not buying the higher valued items they want you to buy, so they send you vouchers for them to entice you.0 -
Thanks Aesop.
Not much point in me signing up for one then!0 -

Beg to differ. But I've just checked my vouchers and they are all for things I buy regularly like fresh fruit, toilet rolls, eggs, cheese, fresh veg, cleaning products etc. Actually there is not one voucher for things I dont normally buy (cakes, pet food)
Mind you shame tesco dont tailor the vouchers for people with special dietary needs though. Seems they are a bit anti anyone different as one of the tesco rewards is for a railcard. but only if you are young, family and friends or elderly. not valid for the disabled rail card :mad:0 -
But if the rewards token has expired after say 4\5 months (because it was early this year we ordered them) then it sounds a little off not refunding the points seeing as the original points were\are valid into next year anyway?. The concert tickets thought above might be a point. But as said the attached points are valid for a lot longer than the token states.0
