So It's not to bad then.
I can't get Vanquis. I've paid my defaults off now they are marked as satisfied now, so I'm hoping when I apply for Vanquis or Aqua in October I'll get accepted!0 -

Aqua and Vanquis accepted me as soon as I turned 18. I had no history and hardly any searches, so to them, I probably looked like a huge risk as they had no idea whether I was going to take their money and run. I'm really surprised they accepted me.
CapitalOne declined me in January, after I turned 18. I sent an appeal letter and a few weeks ago, got a letter back saying no, so I just reapplied online and got accepted (a week after they had said no to my appeal, weird, as they did a unrecorded credit check as well).
Now I have Vanquis £250, Aqua £250, CapitalOne £100, HSBC Current Account Advance, Lloyds TSB Classic Account, o2 iPhone 3G contract.
I've asked Aqua today to up my limit to £500. They said they'll look at my account and give me a decision in a few days. I've only had the account 2/3 months.
I'm not incurring any more searches. I just managed to get 5 searches removed from Equifax, and 3 from Experian, so I have around 10 on both Equifax and Experian now. I'm going to leave it around 6 months before applying for an overdraft with Lloyds. Hopefully, everything will be fine then.
My aim is to scrap all the sub-prime cards by December 2009, and get a mainstream card with Lloyds. By then, I should have 9/10 months of credit history on 4 credit accounts, 1 current, all reported greens.
Today, I set up minimum direct debit to Aqua and Vanquis. I guess it looks good for me to have a direct debit on file with them, and it looks good on my current account.0 -
None of my defaults have been paid but due to drop off in the next 12 months. Well thats what the cra's said so should have a clear credit file next year i believe and because i have these current green 0's means i dont end up with no credit on my file. Forgot to say i have a ccj due to drop of in march 09. I was going to pay the defualts and ccj but they have built up and 2 of them are no longer companies0

I thought you have to wait 6 months between Capital One applications?
I'm pleased that has changed.

Are you on the Electoral roll?
I can't understand why I never got a Vanquis card, especially with what you have told me you have.0 -
yip on the electoral since october 2008 but was declined for aqua. I think i got cap one as had one a few years ago with the matched deposit credit, closed that down and waited 6 months and applied again with no deposit needed. Thats what probably helped with vanquis0
