    Guys, what do you all reckon about it being a bad idea to apply for too many credit cards at the same time? I noticed last night N-I-D went a bit mad applying & didn't seem that bothered about the amount of searches.

    Its a very bad idea. It trashes your file and, IMO, acts like a short term default. He was a twit for doing so.

    More than 12 searches per year concurrently on your file will dammage your credit rating, this information was personally passed on to me by an underwriter by a well known credit card company.
