Thanks. I might as well give Vanquis a try. Do they give an instant decision and also does everyone get a £250 limit or can it occasionally start higher?

Go through Quidco to get £25 cashback for Vanquis. Most people get £250 but it is not unheard of for people to get £500. They rarely give an instant decision.

If you have good credit rating you get better limit, £250 is their basic start limit..... 90% of people get this limit.... I know sum1 who got £1250 - apparently the maximum, but he done it to test the system as he had great job, home and credit history OH and amex black (centurian)!

If you dont get instant decision, wait and you'll eventually get call on landline to confirm details then they will give you account. If it is decline they write once, declining - no messing about. :T

Not sure whether to go for the Vanquis now or not. On what grounds might they decline? I've got no adverse but I do have a lot of credit searches in the past 12 months. could they decline on sheer number of credit searches?
