Just an update on hubby's Vanquis application..
He finally returned their call last night and he's been approved for their 'Classic card'!:j Don't know the credit limit but they offered him instant cash of £200 (which of course he politely declined!!) So I'm thinking he's been offered a limit of £500.
He's said he's not going to use it at all as it's APR is 47.9:eek:..but i've suggested a tenner on petrol each month and pay off immediately
Roll on the new green '0's:beer::j0 -
It's that time of the month where I stop lurking in this thread to update all on my JD Williams credit limit.
To save going back through the thread, my limit started at £100. It has then increased by £100 per month until it reached it's previous level of £500.
New limit - £900 an increase of £400!!!!!!0 -
Good morning,
can someone please offer me advice on a few points? I checked my credit reports this morning (EXP and EQ)...
-I have a default that was satisfied in sept 2002 - should this not have come off by now? I thought they only stayed on for 6 years? How do I get it removed? I also have 2 more defaults that were satisfied in Oct 2003 - when these drop off later this year do you think this will improve my credit file? I haven't missed any payments on anything since 2003.
-I had a cc with HSBC which I paid off in full (not defaulted) and then closed the account in 2007 - but it still looks like it's showing as an active account. It just says a nil balance on a limit of £4500. It has lots of the green zeros but surely the seemingly available credit will not work in my favour?
- I also have LOADS of searches (9!!!!!) in the last year - how long do these take to drop off? Is it a year?
thank you in advance for your help.0 -

Hi there,
Vanquis offered me a £250 cash advance and my start limit was £250. I assume then that your OH has a limit of £200 ( although odd for Vanquis )

You will need to get on to Experian and Equifax and get them removed. You can do an on-line dispute with Equifax if you have your report reference number from your report and you could ring Experian and tell them to remove it.
The two other defaults from which were satisfied in October 2003 should drop off 6 years after the original default date. So if the original default was June 2003 it should drop off June 2009.
If your account with HSBC is still active on your credit file you will need to telephone or write to HSBC and tell them to mark it as satisfied on your credit file.

Yes it sounds like the limit is £250 as you have been offered exactly the same cash advance as my Brother, Mum and Dad and there original limits were all £250.0 -
Hello All,
Was just wondering if anone knows how long from applying it takes to get a decline letter from Aqua, I applied on 11/03/2009 and got the 10-14 days message, they searched my experian file on the 12th but have not had a decline letter yet!
I applied back in december (when I wasn't on the elec roll), got the 10-14 day message and had a letter of decline on the mat 3 days after,
Does anyone think im in with a chance?
2 Searches in last 6 months on my Experian, Vanquis £250 limit with 4 green zero's, Cap One £500 Limit with 12 green zero's and Alliance and Liecester Current Acc with £100 OD limit 5 green zeros' and Natwest Step 3 years of green zeros.
I was Bankrupt in 2004, discharged in 2005 and have since been trying to rebuild. Got a Mortgage in 2006 and just want to keep building to get Mainstream mortgage and better rate CC's.
Any help?
Thanks
