    Hi all,

This is my first post, but I've been following you for a few days as I'm trying to rebuild my credit history.

I keep getting turned down for credit everywhere I go. I don't actually want any credit, but I can't get a current account (use a savings account) so I have to pay in cash for everything. I've checked my file at Experian and it's blank - no credit history at all, so I guess that's why no-one will touch me. Ridiculous that banks etc just won't see past a low credit score - I have a stable job (been with the same company for 7 years now) and I live in rented accomodation, but the same place for over 3yrs now & one of the reasons I want to rebuild my credit history is so that I can get a mortgage.

It's so frustrating that nobody will trust me - I'm 35, I have a good job & a regular salary, I'm on the electoral register, I have no adverse credit, and yet Alliance & Leicester have turned down my current account application, Capital One & Aqua have turned down my credit card applications (waiting to hear from Vanquis but not hopeful), Debenhams have turned down my store card application - absolutely nobody wants me!!! Aaargh  !!!

Nice to meet you all, anyway!

For a good basic bank account apply in branch for the Barclays Cash Account with which you get a Visa debit card. As for building up your credit I would start with a catalogue company like Jacamo They will start you with a small limit of around £125 but this soon rises and you can begin to get green ticks built up on your file.

    Hope That helps.

    * He has requested the additional £8 for the SAR - but he is proeccessing it in the meanwhile.
    * He is removing the incorrect linked addresses from Orange
    * He notices that I am a member of credit expert ( blah blah )
    * He will ensure my identity theft problems are sorted out
    * Any enquiries I have please contact him on his direct line / email address.

There is a course i want to do which will help me with my career but its only £580 but rather use a CDL which allows u to only start paying once course complete.

I would advise you to give it a go, it can't do no harm. I do know people who have been accepted for Currys and they have good credit though.

I'm going to go for it once I have found one I want.
I'll do the JD / Jamco at the same time.

Jacamo are okay, but Shop Direct Group sell better stuff, have you tried Littlewoods or Great Universal?

If you do try requesting a catalogue first it will pre-authorise an amount first.
