Ah, don't let it bother you mumofboys, we've all got messed up credit files, that's why we're here after all :D I also applied for an Abbey Zero yesterday, being the last day when you could. I bet I'll be declined, though.

Oh well - onwards and upwards (still working on getting bits and bots of my Experian report sorted, too)..

Thanks Tigerite, I know - would have made such a difference to me to have a Blackberry for work though and I think at the moment a PAYG Blackberry is prohibitively expensive.

Good luck with the Abbey Zero, I hope you have success.

Hopefully I will get my hands on my reports soon, and then I can be more proactive at sorting it out. Paid off £1400 this month though.

Did you apply in-store or on-line?

You could ring Orange and ask them to speak to credit referrals and see if you could pay a deposit?

Have you tried T-mobile? They accepted me with 2 un-satisfied defaults.

Hi Sutton, Orange is the best bet for me because there is really poor reception for other networks where I live.

I applied over the phone. Didn't think of suggesting a deposit. Just wanted to get off the phone as soon as I got the decline word to be honest. Might give it ago once I've licked my wounds and feel less yuck.

I would suggest trying for a Sim Only contract on Orange (One month rolling contract) and buying a Blackberry from ebay. They are cheap now - you will get a Pearl for well under £100. You could then put your Orange Pay Monthly sim in and bobs your uncle.

Thats what i did before i could get a full contract with a handset etc. As they dont send you a phone, there is less risk for them, and therefore they are easier to get.

Thank you, that is great advice. I will definitely look into this. Do you still get the same offers in terms of minutes etc? So good to have another option...

You actually get better mins etc because there is no handset. You will need to pay about an extra £7 a month for Blackberry (Unlimited Data) though. But you would get that with pretty much any contract anyway.
