2006 and 2007 (one from a former landlord and one from a telephone company that can't be mentioned on this site)

My 1st contract was for an iphone 3G when it launched and I believe O2s credit checking went a bit haywire so that could explain it. Both contracts were obtained through CPW group companies rather than O2 direct (but are billed by O2 direct still rather than CPW)

Of course now my foot is in the door with them, I'm free to upgrade when my contracts expire too without fear of getting knocked back which is good :D

Yea, that is what I want an Iphone. I may try CPW. I have heard a few nightmare stories, I remember the problem they had when the Iphone was released.

I have heard that instore O2 will now offer a six month sim only contract if you fail the credit check and if you pay the bills fine for the six months they'll upgrade you to a normal contract with a handset

Evening everyone, hope you are all well :)

Can I ask, what is good signs on your credit reports?

How many green zero's etc would make your file qualify for a step up i.e FULL bank account/mainstream cc's

    Hope that makes sense!

Orange do the same, fail for a handset package, and you should get a SIM only, 30 day rolling contract, keep it good for 6 months, and you stand a good chance of upgrading to a handset package.

When I got my first o2 contract I had 4 or 5 defaults on my files. I remember at the time I had to pay a £50 deposit which was refunded on my 3rd statement.

Not sure if they still do this though? I did go for the cheapest tariff though which was just under £20 a month. I've stayed with them ever since, had no problems upgrading, and the best bit of all is that they have always honoured my previous contract in terms of price :)
