OK, thanks. I know that all these things are really sensitive, and they are for me too. Feeling a bit emotional now.

I know how bad things can be. I had multipe defaults and 2 CCJ, but these things can get sorted. Chin up.

It may well be the truth...

I managed to get a Natwest account 8 years ago when I was evicted and had to move to where I am now. I was a single mother of 2 small children, received no maintenance, and had to rely on benefits.

They fully knew my circumstances, yet sent me a 3 in 1 card, cheque book, and credit card with a limit of £1800.

Needless to say I ended up defaulting and had to live with the mistake for 6 years until it all came off my credit reports last year.

I learned the hard way. Duplicated defaults, one even showing as Hire Purchase!

Thankfully I'll never make the same mistake again, and after the trouble I had with Natwest never touch them again either (Got a cheque for £200 in compensation though which bought a lovely carpet) :D

Thanks Sutton, that's exactly why I came online here. I will get my CRA files and report back.

What other product's do you have Dave?

Well theres the JD Williams catalogue, also a fashion world catalogue with £100 limit. Also have a sole and a joint step account with any attempt to upgrade to classic plus met with "no you can't have classic plus... but would you like a step account". And have two mobile phone contracts with O2

1st contract connected July last year. 2nd one (which my girlfriend uses cos she couldn't pass) in September

Got couple of CCJs unsatisfied. Prob a few defaults here and there too (though one has just been removed after I found out Lloyds TSB were still putting a default on my file despite me having a court order ordering them to remove it in May 2007)

I have 2 soon to be satisfied defaults but O2 turned me down flat. . How old are your CCJ's?

2006 and 2007 (one from a former landlord and one from a telephone company that can't be mentioned on this site)

My 1st contract was for an iphone 3G when it launched and I believe O2s credit checking went a bit haywire so that could explain it. Both contracts were obtained through CPW group companies rather than O2 direct (but are billed by O2 direct still rather than CPW)

Of course now my foot is in the door with them, I'm free to upgrade when my contracts expire too without fear of getting knocked back which is good :D
